onacruise - Craig Mills 1952-2011
by Lady Lee ini was given the link to a bit of information regarding on old poster/moderator of this forum.
i was not sure of the validity of the information so have been trying to find out if it is true.. earlier today craig's estranged wife, kate, (bikerchic) confirmed that craig died at his home on aug 10, 2011.. i am sure that many people here remember craig's time here and how he went out of his way to offer support to posters, even calling them, to give whatever help he could as they adjusted to their post-jw lives.. i know many people here will grieve his loss.. --------------.
ps i tried posting this earlier but the computer i was working with would not allow the posts.

I have the WT Library for 2006. The article I am thinking of isn't there. So it must be 2007 or later. Does anyone have access to the WT Library for 2007?
Thanks

Still no pant suits, for sisters
by Quarterback ini was watching the cnn this evening..watched hilliary clinton walk towards some dignataries in a foreign land.
i saw that she was well dressed in a pant suit.
she is the us secretary of state, and what she wore was dignified.

Wha Happened: I agree. It is busy work. Shortly before I left I had someone say to me if FS, "Field service isn't so much for the householders, but for us." I agreed, but not for the reason she thought.

I remember when the literature said that the reason men could'nt wear beards was because it didn't look professional. In those days most professional men didn't wear beards, but many hippies did. We were told to model ourselves after professional men and women in business, as people would then respect us as we were showing respect for our God.
But as times changed, the rule didn't change. Many, many professional men have beards, and most professional women wear pant suits. What is the reason for the rule now? Has anyone seen anything in writing?

Hello all
by Theredeemer inafter many years of visiting this site off and on since its inception i would finally like to throw in my two cents and opinions into the mix.. first of all, i am a born in, baptized at the tender age of 9. although i totally disagree with allowing someone at that age to get baptized, i will say that i was very imformed and i knew my dogma!
at the same time, though, i was aware of many inconsistancies with many of the beliefs and practices of the jw faith.
i was adopted by my grandparents since i was 2 months and they had been jws since 1950s.

Welcome. I can relate to your feelings. I recently saw an old friend (who was really more like family) and after a passionate plea on her part for me to return, when I tried to respond, told me she wouldn't listen to any criticism of the organization. I managed to say one thing to her, but she told me I needed to be readjusted and should talk to the elders because they were guided by holy spirit. My advice? (Not that you asked and of course you don't need to heed.) Don't try to explain to them. They won't listen, they won't get it, and it will just cause you trouble.

So sad. I read his story and loved the "happy ending" with Kate. He was clearly an intelligent, kind person. I'm so sorry his life was so difficult and it's end too soon. My condolences.

Since my Elder dad died...
by aquagirl inive been sad.i miss him alot.but i must say,it is very nice to not be hearing all of the "doom and gloom" all of the time.the "we will all be in paradise except you,and even tho i wont be supposed to,ill still miss you" speech.
{still chokes me up a bit}.hell, yeah,i miss my dad,and feel like i was robbed of many years of a good life with him by the jw's and their petty doctrines and spys.i still have my mum,and she goes to the meetings occasionally, but she knows the deal.my dad was just too damaged from his time in aushweitz to really ever be happy of free.poor soul.i hope he has found some solace and peace at last.dad,i still love you, even tho you made my life hell with the jw thing,i know you were doinf it cause you really did believe it...but its nice to be away from it.i hope he is at peace at last......
