when will the wts admit that this arrangement is a bust - financially, emotionally, aesthetically.

mts was something that started in 1987 for those who wanted to pursue other avenues of services without having to go through bethel service.

it originally was intended to be an abbreviated gilead course with brothers receiving assignments to go into the circuit work, missionary service, special pioneer work or to serve where the need was greater (which oftentimes translated to the boonies or starkly rural areas).

good friend of mine went through one of the early MTS's here in the UK. Was assigned as a missionary to another country - at the time he was officially the youngest missionary in the world (JW missionary that is...)

later went on to give convention talks, PO in several congregations etc etc

had his doubts and then heard the CO blatantly lie to all the elders in the Circuit about there being no child abuse issues in their circuit (he personally had handled 3 cases)

that was the last straw and he is now properly faded - zero meetings for years.

Need Some Advice on MIL JW

ok i will try and make this story short because its not my intent to go on a huge mil bashing spree.

september of 2004 i meet my now husband.

while we were dating he told me that he wanted nothing to do with his family because they were jw's and he was disfellowshipped because of them and his now ex-fiancee.

yo apostadudes!!

sam and i had our 1st crimbo part tonight - lots of wordly friends and unashamed drinking of strong alcohols .

and i smoked a big fat cigar inside the the house - yyyyyaaaaayyyyyyy .

and one of worldly friends went home drunk <gasp>

another one has crashed on our sofabed

and another one <catholic boy> got a bit a fighty (oohh)

SPEEDING UP THEIR OWN DEMISE?

we all know the majority of the society's elders are absolutely useless when it comes to dealing with family matters and as i was sat here reading a number of posts it suddenly occurred to me that watchtower may have started to speed up its own demise.. before i exited my old congregation a young elder was appointed.

he was married without children (they don't want any).

after i exited i heard of another young elder who was appointed (they, too, have no children and i don't think they want any either).. the service overseer was a young elder (a right big head and son of the p.o.).

our story above will give you one scenario...

Your decision at this point is not can I be disfellowshipped. Thats easy. The question is do you want the WTS to decide whether your nearest and dearest will shun you and what that means to you if they do. For us we took a risk on losing family/friends and we lost nearly the lot.

However we can hold our heads up knowing that we have stood up for our conscience and have defanged the beast - they have no power over us and we can say and do what we want - some people on this board have been fading for decades and still cant put up Xmas lights as a mundane example.

You need to think about how you want to exit.

) back in july or whenever it was i've been fretting about not being an ordained minister.

this was always important to me - to be an ordained minister is a valuable thing - thats why the jw's are proud to say they have 6.9m or so ordained ministers.
