data-dog's post about his possible ulcer reminded of an article i read today.. helicobacter pylori a common pathogen that is found in the human gut, well known for producing some nasty ailments including ulcers can also cause stomach (gastric cancer) cancer.
one gods marvellous creations .
whats has been of interest to scientists for some time is that there is no correlation between the occurrence of gastric cancer and the percentage population infected with the h. pylori.
or - ....don't move to far from home :-)
so here i am after about 18 months of wake up.
the first 6 months were a rollercoster of feelings as my whole belief system unravelled.
the last year has been more stable but things seem like they are just stalling now.. my wife is aware of many of my feelings although i have held back the fact that i am pretty close to denying all belief in any kind of god.
Its really difficult but you should at least try and spring your wife out as well. No point in being left wondering 'what if..' later on. Having said that it sounds like that attempt should leave you with a fallback position with plausible deniablity
You could go cold turkey and explain your conscience doesnt allow you to continue. "I have made an informed choice not to attend for now, and if that changes I will let you know" repeat until blue in the face, particulary if your wife defies your wishes and drags some elders in.
If pushed you could explain to your wife only - no one else - that there are issues that defy facts (the flood for one - http://corior.blogspot.com/2006/02/part-1-general-description-of-flood.html), that defy a normal interpretation of Christian Doctrine (the Mediator - http://www.jwfacts.com/watchtower/mediator.php) and that defy moral behaviour (child abuse policy - http://www.jwfacts.com/watchtower/paedophilia.php) - combining these 3 EXAMPLES makes it impossible for it to be the right religion, if such a thing exists.
All the other advice is great - be the best husband and father you can be, try and arrange fun stuff that conflict with meetings and service, cultivate a few mutual friends outside the KH.
PM me if you like :-)
i am reuniting with past students and return visits.. i met up with a young lad i used to call on.
he is not baptised, but at university in his 20's and living away from home.
his mother is a jw and his father is not.
when you can demonstrate to a true believer that they are not unique (in this case with their apostate bogeyman doctrine) it makes their claims to being 'the truth' a little less plausible
"but we ARE the truth"

The Pharisees would have considered Jesus an apostate - correct?
Paul and the apostles were all apostates - correct?
The Spanish Inquisition was established to identify apostates - correct?
Anybody who rejects Islam is an apostate - correct?
Anybody changing religion to JW is an apostate - correct?
Anybody rejecting the JW doctrine is an apostate - correct?
Life goes on.
There is nothing a high control group loves more than to define themselves by opposition to an arch-enemy, real or contrived. Its been going on for thousands of years...
hello again folks - as promised in my last thread here, i've been working on turning yearbook statistics into excel spreadsheets.. coincidentally, today is my 25th birthday (spare a thought for a fader).. i've now updated the spreadsheet with yearbook data all the way back to 1988 (the year i was born), therefore it now contains 25 years of statistics.. there were a lot of countries changing around and for some it was possible to create a continuation of data.
some are a simple change of name like south-west africa to namibia.
others, for example - in 1993 with czechoslovakia splitting into two countries (czech republic and slovakia) i have added an extra row that provides a continuation of the data, combining czech republic and slovakia back together as if they were still one country.
"Something's fishy with the numbers for the Faroe Islands"
I see what you did there :-)

did you spot anything interesting?
i do not think god is a'morphic.
god is not human, so hence he does not possess human characteristics, to know god better and to understand him better i study science.
there has been a new discovery of strange signals picked up from black holes and distant supernovae suggest there's more to space-time than einstein believed.
somebody send Kate her pink atheist certificate
i just took the first page of the 2013 report and added two new columns to look at alternative ways of calculating the 'increase'.
first column: 2013 av.
pubs minus 2012 av.
@88jm - I think the 80/20 rule will see you through
when i looked at the languages WTS were boasting about printing, seemed that the first 20 languages covered over 75% of their publishers...
many emails are sent to me through my website, watchtowerdocuments.com.
all are answered.
