Great letter! When you discuss the matter of idolizing the Organisation, you might find these useful to include:
“As Christians, we face up to similar challenges today. We cannot take part in any modern version of idolatry-be it worshipful gestures toward an image or symbol or the imputing of salvation to a person or an organization. (WT 01.Nov. 1990, p.26)
“But if we were to draw away from Jehovah’s organization, there would be no place else to go for salvation and true joy. (Compare John 6:66-69.)” (WT 15. Sept. 1993, p.22)
this is the title of an article from the august 1st issue of the watchtower (public edition).. it can be downloaded from http://www.jw.org/index.xjp?option=qryqzrqvnznt but is not yet available in print.. the absence of the divine name in nt manuscripts is vaguely described so as not to confuse the average jw reader.
the opening paragraph even gives the uninformed reader the impression that some of those nasty non-jw translators deliberately chose to omit the divine name.
bible scholars acknowledge that god's personal name appears in the old testament or hebrew scriptures.
narkissos writes:
The NWT follows this (NT Greek) text for the OT quotations, except for the "divine name".
(Largely, but not always true.)
The Watch Tower Society admitted to altering the New Testament. The Foreword of the 1981 Englisch Edition of the New World Translation states on page 6:
"An effort was put forth to bring about even greater consistency in the renderings of the related parts of the Holy Scriptures, such as in harmonizing with the original Hebrew readings the readings of quotations made in the Christian Greek Scriptures."
The NWT policy exists despite the fact that such quotations are often demonstrably taken verbatim from the Septuaginta -- NOT from the Hebrew text of the Old Testament.
i think i heard the word "intellectual" for the first time when i was less than ten years old.. my grandmother said to me that the presidential candidate for the democratic party (adalai stevenson) was an "intellectual".. the way she said the word...the timbre of her voice...the look of admiration on her face...led me to believe this was a good thing indeed!.
i think i may have asked her what the word meant, but, i don't recall exactly what she told me.
perhaps enough to confirm that this fellow stevenson was a "thinker" of admirable stature.. fast forward.. by the time my teen years came along there was a kind of dichotomy in society between so-called "eggheads" and common folk.

Greetings!
"Ich will einst bei Ja und Nein!
Vor dem Zapfen sterben.
Mit mir soll des Fasses Rest
in der Gruft verderben.
Engelschöre weihen dann
mich zum Nektarerben:
Diesem Trinker gnade Gott!
Laß ihn nicht verderben!"
i know that some believe all jws are "weird".
but i'm not talking about that.. there are some real weird witnesses!
you know, the ones everyone had in their hall that everyone talked about or laughed at.. we had one 25 year old man who was pioneering and he used to go out to literally every neighborhood in the city.
I really started thinking either he had a woman in there or a dead body.
Or both!!! They're not mutually exclusive, y' know...
just another interesting comment i have received on the watchtower comments youtube channel.
feel free to deconstruct.... .
what is wrong with you?
Unfortunately, V's e-friend seems not to have understood that (if the WTS' current doctrine be correct) the Society promulgated false doctrine (in God's name, no less) for the past seventy years...
i thought this was an interesting article, lots of rutherford and knorr quotes.
life of albert schroeder in the org.
i remember meeting albert schroeder about 15 years ago.
We began our pioneer service before we were baptized because at that time it was not clearly understood whether those with the earthly hope needed to be baptized or not. However, after I was baptized in Vandercook Lake, Michigan, July 24, 1932, it became evident that my hope had changed to that of an anointed one, which was confirmed by the ‘witness of the spirit.’—Romans 8:16.
Hmmm.
If memory serves, the WTS claimed in print that they didn't begin to baptize "Other Sheep" until 1934...
my friend was telling me that the generation of anointed alive in 1914 now includes their children.
i thought that the anointed were not meant to have sex.
am i right or wrong?
(Revelation is supposed to be totally symbolic.)
Except, of course, for the number 144 000.
as the men in the congregations suffer from burnout and quit helping out as ms and elders, do you think the situation of shrinkage will become so desperate that the wts will be forced to start using women in positions of authority?
they have a huge commodity that they are refusing to use.
that makes no sense at all.
All they would have to do to square this with their affiliates/followers is put an article in the sacred Watchtower giving new light regarding Romans 16:1, viz. "I recommend to YOU Phoebe our sister, who is a minister of the congregation that is in Cenchreae..."
if you can understand the written word in german, italian, portuguese, or spanish -- you can help.
oh, you will also need to have access to a copy of insight on the scriptures (it).. insight on the scriptures was first released in english, at the divine justice conventions.
the actual release of that two volume set began on friday, june 17, 1988. .
According to the printed Einsichten (German edition: vol. one copywrite 1990, vol. two copywrite 1992), the Sodomites et al will NOT be resurrected. The article on "repentance" (i.e. Reue) doesn't mention them; the sentence you offered in English is re-written.
