I totally understand your point. If you want to label my faith "religion" I've got nothing against that... I'm mearly expressing why I myself don't use or subscribe to that term. The words "religion" and "faith" mean two different things to me. That's all I was trying to say.

I guess I don't really have a problem being misunderstood, or looking at things from my own unique standpoint. If someone doesn't understand what I mean, than if it's important enough, they'll ask for clarification, if not *shrugs*. I try to not sweat the small stuff.

Anymore the word "religion" seems to hava a negative connotation that a lot of Christians want to steer away from. For me it brings up images of bible thumping, greed in the name of faith, and politicking.

For me, if I were to say, I belong to a "faith" or have a Christian belief system, but aren't religious, it means I don't feel the need to conform to a set list of dogmas, and I won't try to cram my beliefs down anyones throat. I've gone to several different churches and enjoyed them all for different reasons. It's more about that internal relationship and joy than any definition or label one might put on your beliefs.

Really, it's just words and how a person feels when they hear that word. In the end, it's all just personal preference.

What little things get you upset?

i get upset very fast, if a product i use since years gets discontinued.

gee, if the weatherman says it's 75 degrees outside and i know it's 80, i'll phone him and tell him to get a better thermometer or put glasses on.

often i feel like writting to the mayor and ask him what is he waiting for to pave the streets of the whole city.

"Shipping and handling" charges

Oh yeah, that too!

I just love going through Ebay and finding something I really like, only to discover that although this person says they ship USPS, there is an extra huge shipping charge because Alaska isn't part of the United States.... I'm not sure how these people made it through High School.

Shipping to Alaska is such a racket. Don't put a .39 cent stamp on it and charge extra because you had to write "AK" in the address.

yesterday something happened that really pissed me off.

i was walking out of a store that has two doors you have to walk through... the inner door and the outer door.

basically a small foyer.. as i'm going through the inner door i notice a woman is behind be so i go on through and hold the door for her... she went right on through without a word and then went through the outer door, pushed it open and then let it fly back into my face.

I'm with Elliej on this one... I think it's wonderful that people haven't forgotten small kindnesses.

I hold doors open for people all the time, and when someone does the same for me they get a hearty "Thank You" and a big smile. Don't let it discourage you... most women know better and appreciate a gentleman when they meet one.

I don't get spun up about much... I'm a pretty calm person...

That being said, the employees at Home Depot here in town have got me shopping at Lowes now. On more than one occasion I've gone an asked an employee a question about fixing something in the house, and they promptly turn to my husband and tell HIM the answer. Apparently my boobs get in the way of my understanding the answer... I'm not sure.

If I ask a question... tell ME the answer, not my husband.... I don't care if we're talking about insulation or baking powder.

Finally someone honestly accknowledges that atheism is another religion!

I apologize... I didn't mean anything by the title, I was just repeating the title of this Flash.

Crumpet, I'm Christian, but very low key... my husband is athiest so I truly respect that point of view. I'd be the first to tell you I don't have all the answers, or if the one's I've found for myself are the right ones, but they make me happy, so it works for me!

you get a new bible, and as you opened it, you notice that the pages all stuck together in these onion skin thin pages.

so you start separating them, with that crack snip and then separated sound.

that was fun, let me do another, i wonder if i could get through all of genesis before this guy finishes his talk.

I can remember sitting next to the wall and finding new "pictures" in the texturing on the sheetrock. Kinda like finding pictures in clouds....

OMG Crumpet... I'm so glad I'm not the only one who fantasized about who was on the platform... and trying to keep your eyes from hitting their crotches... since they were usually right at the audiences eye level.

jws celebrate birthdays?!

i was speaking to a friend last night, trying to explain why i don't go to meetings etc,(waste of time though she just can't seem to understand my point whatever i say), anyway she said as long as i don't d'a myself she can still speak to me.

she said they only d'f you if you commit a gross sin.

i refuted this saying if they knew i didn't agree with some of the teachings, sent a fathers day card etc and you weren't sorry they'd get rid of you.

I think she's deluded... I'd dare her to try and then report back her findings....

It seems when people get hauled in for piddly stuff... it becomes more about the persons "attitude" and "obedience" than the crime itself.
