  Because the father is supposed to be the head of his house. If he cannot preside over his own house in "fine manner" then they suppose he cannot preside over the congregation very well. He and his family are supposed to be an example to the congregation.

  I agree with that. I have heard that argument, too. My dad was made to step back as elder right after I didn't show up with my parents at the KH anymore (my parents made me show up until I was 16 although I already told them aged 13 that I wouldn't be a JW). He had to step back although I was never df'ed oder da'ed officially as I never got baptised. He became elder again after about 4 or 5 years. He felt very bad about losing that position but he accepted it as punishment as he was not able to win me back i.e. do a good job as head of his house. That's what he himself told me. He failed so he had to be punished. Off course he felt he owed it to Jehovah to be punished, not the WT.

  today i am 17. i just feel excited but i can't run up to witnesses and tell them... so instead i'll just quietly celebrate with all my friends on the board.

  Prohibition from...

  the jw have prohibited:

  as of 1944, jw can?t take blood transfusions cause it is against the teaching and stuff (gen 9:4 => not eating blood)

  with this one, why don?t the jw?s look at leviticus 3:17, which says, ?you must not eat any fat or any blood at all?

  help, i'm finnaly going to do it.. i've been putting it off for 8 years.

  i'm finnaly biting the bullet and getting it done.. at 10am tomorrow morning i'm getting my wisdom teeth taken out.. .

  To me power means wholeness because power comes from within. Whenever I feel whole I feel very powerful. But my power is not over others. It is strength. The strength I need to to carry on. It also works as inspiration in how to carry on best. Whenever I feel connected to myself I am in power. I gain this by looking quietly into myself. I do that by meditation, by longs walks or bicycle riding and by exercising. When I am in power that I am at ease and in a state of peace. This is a very powerful state.

  I've got all four out some years ago so I know what you will go through. I would definitely suggest to use good pain killers, then relax and repeat "Everything will get better every day!". BTW if this is an issue for you you should consider it a good chance to loose some pounds!

  Seriously: The first two days will be the worst but then it's going to get much better in short time. Just be careful to always keep the wounds clean. My dentist offered me a syringe and told me to fill it with water and give the wounds "a shower" with it once or twice a day. That seemed to help. And be sure to have lots of ice at home because the coldness helps to avoid swellings and eases the pain.

  As I don't believe in the existence of any god I can't sin. But I had a fair share of mistakes and also legal wrongdoing. I stole anti wrinkle skin treatment at the tender age of 18! Quite hillarious, isn't it? I also permanentely dodged the fare back then because I was so poor. I had just left home and lived below poverty line for the first three years. I didn't feel good about doing so anyway. I have always had a very strong sense of justness (due to my upbringing) that rapped on the knuckels. Funny enough I later worked at a court!

  The New Pope

  he's german.

  hasn't been a pope from germany since the 11th century.

  he was a very close friend of pope john paul ii and is expected to carry on along where the other pope left off.

  As I'm German I have already heard of that man a couple of times before. He has quite a reputation for beeing conservative. I guess a lot of germans hate him. For example did he create heated debate amongst people when he made the church stepping out of the counseling of pregnant women who want to abort. This was - and still is - a very important issue in Germany, as our laws only allow women to abort when they can prove they had counseling. Not only the church gave counseling but they took a big part of it.

  But after his election I watched a feature about him on TV (his biography, excerpts of former interviews, comments of others who know him) and for the first time I thought he probably isn't such a bad guy. After hearing what I heard I came to the conclusion that he is a honest truthsearcher. One could disagree with his outcomings anyway off course. But to me a person tends to win my acceptance when he's an honest searcher. So I'd say: Im not RC, but I guess he's not the worst choice for a church. I'd give him a cautious! We'll anyway see what will come out of it in the future.
