I'm feeling major depression
by tsunami_rid3r ini'm doing well academically, connecting with my professors and such.
right now i'm not too motivated to do anything.
the only motivation i have is graduating and going to another school to further my profession.

Don't forget it's wintertime, you have always been pretty bad about getting down in the winter...kinda like me.
Maybe a trip somewhere would be a good idea?

To all those who support Evolution EXPLAIN this....
by Blackboo inthink about this and close your eyes...think about what it is to have no existence for all existence..and nothing for all existence...notice how u cannot have both at the same time lol!
that is crazy!
that means if there was nothing for all existence..then it has to remain that way..and even if some particles or energy exploded to give life to earth and the planets..it still does not make sense to believe that a explosion can design humans or animals...thats just like saying i am gonna get a another house out of a explosion!

How Insane to believe such a thing!
So it makes more sense to believe that all the different races of people came from two people? When in recorded history has a couple produced a child of a race other than their own?
Can't wait.

One Sentence
by joannadandy ini look back on all my posts here sometimes (ok not literally - i'm too verbose to look at all of them) and can't believe where i am today.
not that i am sitting on top of the world as the most successful person - but the small victories i have achieved over the past few years really did seem impossible to my pessimistic and damaged little mind when i first started posting here.
when i look back i have a lot of anger in my first posts - and man oh man what a rocky relationship with my parents.

You rock, JoJo. You're one of the people who inspire me, to be certain.

Accepting my own mortality
by tooktheredpill ini dont know about you, but this is one of the most difficult issues of being a jw (at least for me).
as we were living on a spiritual paradise (totally unreal), we used to believe everything the gb said without questions.
i was not going to get old, or go to high school, or go to college or get married and the "big a" was going to finish the "wicked system" ... and them we were going to have a paradise earth forever.... .

Reality struck me in the face when I learned the truth about “the Truth”™. And is really depressing sometimes, when I realize that I’m going to die…
You were always going to die...you just didn't know it. The difference is, now you have a chance to really live first!!!
Slide into the grave with a smile on your face.

Opinions, comments appreciated.............
by Sunnygal41 inwhen we have found our path, we naturally want to start to walk down it.
the reverse isn't true despite what we may believe.
it is quite futile to learn how to walk when you don't know which path to walk upon.

I think the hardest part about this concept for me has been figuring out who I am as an individual so that the "path" could even be entertained. I agree with some of it, but also am aware that under some circumstances, like having been manipulated by mind control, it is difficult to tell the difference between the path you should follow and a distraction.

What does your Avi mean to you and why have you chosen it?
by FreedomFrog ini'm sure this has been posted before but i think many have changed their avi's.
my avi:.
the frog i have now has a gavel...i liked it because to me, it's giving the impression of being released from bondage (as in a prisoners case).

I chose mine to convey "warm fuzzies". It means "I love the Organziation."

Hello family...got a question and need your opinion...
by tan ini've been dating a guy for 6 months now and things have been great except...before me he had a lot of female friends...they we're never sexual (so he says) but very touchy feely.
i've met them all and he has the tendency to still be touchy feely with two of them.. i'm not comfortable with it because he now has a girlfriend.
should i be worried?

I like the lesbian thingy...in fact we have all engaged a little. Little on his part but a lot on our part (the two girls). Maybe I'm putting too much into this. She likes women more...at that point she hardly touched him. When we're all out she barely touches him...do you think he's jealous?
Ok, so since we keep getting little tidbits here...how about the whole story? If you guys have all "engaged a little" it's a touch unreasonable to expect him to "know" it's not ok for normal tactile stuff. Perhaps brushing against the subject isn't accomplishing what you want when really you need to go ahead and dive right into the dirty business of explaining that even though rubby rubby touchy touchy was ok once upon a time, the fairy tale has now changed. In all likelyhood the only way out of this is going to be for the third party (or fourth?!?!) to be removed from the situation. Man...nobody gets into stuff like Ex-Dubs.

Business v. friendship
by sweetface2233 ini have touched on this subject in public a few times and have discussed in detail w/ a few posters exactly what happened between my former best friend and i. to make a long story short, he borrowed money from me (several thousand $) and, in my opinion, carelessly went on a spending spree w/in the next several months.
i confronted him about it, and essentially was given the boot due to it.
at first, i was practically devestated (just like any break-up from a ltr), but now i am over it and have been able to give more focus to my other friends, as well as make new ones.. he and i had minimal contact since the beginning of august to the beginning of january.

Business vs. friendship is a tough line to keep, and no one but you knows if you are in a comfortable zone for yourself. One of my closest friends was also my boss, we would go at it like pit bulls, but once the issue had been addressed, we were both able to put it aside and be friends, almost instantly. A lot of guys can do this and it could be the case with you. But on the friend side you may want to address the harshness and share how it affects your friendship since it left the boundaries of "business acceptable conversation" for YOU.
Like I said...tough line.
