So basically some guy I don't even know, won't give me his name, was able with the help of my wife, to confront me in what was my house and ask me a lot of personal questions about my life and my marriage, making it fairly clear that this was my last chance to get back in good with Jehovah. I fully expect to hear back that based on our conversation, I no longer consider myself one of Jehovah's Witnesses, and that the announcement will be made. This may sound cold-hearted, but who the hell is this guy to tell you anything? And more importantly, why are you even listening to him? Your "last chance to get back in good with Jehovah"? Just who the hell does he think he is? People who behave and speak like this are truely disillusioned and have no right to try and control you. The effect of his words are only what you allow them to be. I've been there.

"No Apologies is no longer one of Jehovah's Witnesses"
by No Apologies insometimes i just don't know when to keep my big mouth shut.
today i think finally said enough to get da'd.. for those of you just tuning in, a recap: about 2-3 years i came to realize everything i had been taught as a jw was a load of steaming turds.
since then i have managed to fade away more or less, without incident.

The story of my life (part 9- 1975: the date comes)
by onacruse inhow often does it happen that we can be asked, rather like on the witness chair in a trial: "what exactly were you doing on the night of xx-xx-xxxx 30 years ago?
" and actually be able to answer that question?
i know exactly what i was doing during the evening of september 30, 1975: i was fervently praying to jehovah that i would be found worthy, in spite of all my weaknesses and failures, to find his favor and live through the next day, the day that armageddon was happening.

The sad thing is, if one did not look forward and plan for the oct 1975 thereabouts date, it labeled you as untrusting and weak. Yet, one month past and you happened to still think the end was about to happen...a person was often labeled as jumping to conclusions. This, at least, was true in my congregation. Thank, whom ever, I only accepted that for no more than a couple of years after '75. I only remember being so very, very disappointed and hurt, so, decided to take control of my own life and refused to be or feel guilty. YES! Life then began. And I was to know real happiness after the org.

Character flaw
by ocsrf inbeing that we for the most part agree that jehovah does not really appoint elders and ms, can we also conclude that jehovah does not have a hand in annointing the fds.
if this is true what would be the character flaw of these men especially the new ones who are only in their early fifties?
if someone studies phys.

Those of the so-called annointed which I was personally aquainted with (note, this is before the replacement theory) were very kind, gentle, and unassuming individuals. Not unlike any other truely devoted religeous person, not unlike a couple of the Catholic Nuns I know or Orthodox Priests I have met. Certainly, not all nuns and priests, or for that matter pastors etc have proven themselves to be of 'good' character. But the annointed were very devoted kind and gentle in my congregation. They were also very old in age. Now, of the couple I was familiar with who were of the, shall I say, replacement class, were insecure, needy and clearly looking for some form of acceptance, they had a need to belong, be recognized, and to have 'some say', if you will. So, need I say? I never did accept the replacement theory. What a bunch of BUNK! The early ones (those who were elderly before, say 1975) were simply sensitve, kind individuals who got sucked in by the rutherford, russel s$%t!

Maybe the very gullibility and trust they have indoctrinated into Witnesses has become their own worst enemy?
How else can you explain the atrocious responses to issues like Associating to the UN/DPI for 10 years? Your above comments certainly make sense. I visited the farm and printing houses back in the, ummm b4 1960, and it was a behive of commercialism making a good show. At least, that was my take as a small child. The objective was clearly to build the organization/corporation into an entity deserving of respect, adoration, and very obviously, a power to be recconed with. Made me proud at the time to feel part of it all. From then on, I had questions, questions about the true objectives of this "godly organization". Then as I grew into a teenager, I experienced more than 2 bethelites return home (I lived in a small California town) who were soon disfellowshipped. No one would tell me why, other than 'they must have fallen under satan's control'. Wow! what sense that made. NOT! I determined the monies were going to nothing more than creating a monster of an organized religeon which cared more for their show of growth in members, real estate, and self-percieved righteousness. So, Who gets the money? Certainly not the publishers, it is their job to give. The machine gets it.

astrology and compatibility with your mate....a grain of truth???
by kid-A inlet me start off by saying i dont believe in astrology and most certainly not horoscopes.
having said that, i have often considered the real possibility that the time and season of the year we are born in can dramatically influence our pre-natal development and the resulting personality, i dont think this has anything to do with "stars" or cosmology, but we do know that babies born in certain seasons or months are more prone to certain illnesses, temperaments etc.. i'm an aries and had a really lousy relationship with a "cancer" for many years.
she always pointed out that all of the compatibility charts state that aries and cancers are fundamentally incompatible and it turned out....she was right!!

Pisces and Scorpio: me, pisces, husband, scorpio. this report is totaly, right on! apparently, there is something to it. first husband was a gemini, couldn't have been much worse of a coupling! When these two connect for the first time, sparks will fly and both might feel they have met a soul mate. There will be a deep, unexplained mystical connection when they get to know one another and start dating.
Pisces represents Scorpios fifth house of love and sex. This could be love at first sight. Many relationships and marriages take place when these two fall in love. Both will remain loyal, committed and be highly understanding of each other. This could be the one you have been waiting for, Pisces! Pisces and Scorpio are very mesmerizing water signs and capable of captivating each other. Sexually they couldn’t have found a more compatible partner. The need to express love will be felt very strongly by both parties and sex will be exotic, erotic and intoxicating.
Memories of this attraction linger in both Scorpio and Pisces minds long after their romance is over. Don’t let a bad day ruin your chances for long-term love.

hey willyo, i saw the symbols etc in the wt publications as a child and somehow on a gut level determined the org was making an effort to associate itself with the occult and therefore to have an amount of influence over those who became associated with it. be it masonic, witchcraft, or anything else, i saw it then and now as a means of emotional control over those who were and could be influenced by things which create a belief in the superstitous. and guess what? all good jws are just that, superstitious and are definitely controlled by their belief in demons and their supposed effects on us humans. that being said, i have been labeled 'witch' and 'demonized' by 'good jws' for seeing and questioning as to why these symbols, etc. were used. witch, i may be, but even as a child i could see the mind control which was being used. whether mr russell was a mason or not, does not really matter, he used the symbology and set the ball in motion. as a side note, the four watchtowers, north, east, south, and west, are believed to have guardians which can be called upon for support of that which individuals desire. my question, did russell invoke them? and for what, if he did?

13 is not too young to go to a dance. But, it is not too young to have a hormone ravaged young man put her under pressure to please him Ahhh, they do, do that. Those wonderful, cute guys! I just hope you have spoken to her about protection and how to gracefully turn those cute little boys down. She will then have a great time at the dance!

hmmm, they don't come to my door. It's been 15 yrs. since a jw has knocked at my home. Must have scared them them good with my big biker bf. Interesting thing is, I have since lived in 4 different locations. Dad and brother are elders, they must wisely see fit not to forward my info. Point being, good little jws are not hard to discourage or simply scare off your doorstep, that is, if you really want to... So, I ask, why even have a conversation with a devoted jw? Each individual will find their own way out if they so desire or are slapped in the face with the false reasoning the org promotes. We are all in charge of our lives, some choose to give that charge to others. It all comes back to taking responsibility. I was raised jw, yes, that fact screwed my young life up. I missed out on much. But now, I live life to the fullest and that is my right. No one else is living my life but me. So, who the h#ll is anyone to tell me what I should have "faith" in? Faith is an unfounded belief. I choose, life, and enjoy it to the fullest.

Husbands! Smack your wife across the mouth!
by PopeOfEruke ingreat advice received from a close jw relative who we visited last week.
she said that husbands are the head of the family, and if the wife doesn't support him in serving jehovah then he should give her a good smack across the mouth, thats what she deserves.
if only adam had given eve a good smack across the mouth when she proposed eating the fruit, we wouldn't be in the mess we are in now!

anewme,
Stories like Lady Lee's are not uncommon in the organization. That's how my po elder father kept my mother and us kids towing the line (with a good slap across the mouth). Later when I was married to a 'fine' brother who beat me, the kids, and the dog, I was required to stay with him by the elders as well. That 'fine' husband of mine made sure there were never 2 witnesses to anything he did, including adultry. The attempts of many women I've spoken with to remain in 'good standing' as a witness, has forced them to live under these prison-like conditions.
With the title of this thread being what it is, let's watch and see how many similar stories come up from around the globe! I was in S California.
