he's just a delusional story teller. sometimes the stories can be entertaining if you have nothing else to do. the bible feeds his imagination and takes him to other worlds which he enjoys relating his experiences there to anyone who will listen.

Blondie, you just reminded me of a converstation I had this past weekend. On the subject of jws coming to your door. The friends (inhabitants) where all ready for them, donned robes (4-5 people) one answered the door while the others where in the background acting out a ceremony of sorts and warmly invited the witnesses in to discuss their beliefs. heheheheh, they, the witnesses, I was told ran away sooooo fast and never have come back!

How many of you consider yourselves Pagan?
by FreedomFrog ini've started on a path that is very comfortable for me almost a year ago.
and now i'm wanting to see how many believe a similar way.. i looked into wiccan, celtic, eclectic and other forms of pagan.
i think that i've settled down into shamanism since that was the path my grandfather went.

Is a witch pagan? I work with the elements and find much spiritual satifaction therein. "Green": may be the best description. I'm not religeous. I just do what I feel to be fitting for what I wish to accomplish. As in ritual. I honor the sun, moon, and earth. Things which have a direct influence on our very being. No fantasy type faith going on. Certainly no 'worship'. I learned to stop. and listen. to my inner voice. She speaks loud and clear, if only more would pay attention to theirs. Shammanism is not much different I suspect. I drum when the feeling comes, I light candles when I need ceremony. I have animal familiars dedicated to me. Shall I go on...

It's all waaaay in my past as well. But It is still embarrassing that my family was so gullible, and me too. I find that speaking up and confessing my past has made me feel alittle better, even though it seems to have a distancing affect on those I confess to. But I must say, life is excellent on the outside!!

Social Skills..... or lack thereof
by damselfly ini have come to the realization that i have very poor to non-existent social skills.
i have become so scared of rejection ( i wonder why?
) that i only let people get so close and only reveal select personal information after literally years of knowing someone.sometimes when i'm out in public and see someone i know, if they haven't seen me yet i will try and avoid them.

I don't believe my social fears are not so much of rejection but simply that what I have to say is meaningless and will be ignored. So I do not speak up. Also, I find that if I ask a question and get an answer, any answer, I will ask the same question again and again just in different ways. Frustrates me to know end (not to mention the other person). It's because I find it hard to simply believe any answer. The society (raised in it) lied so much that believing anything is next to impossible for me. So, I will catch myself using their circular reasoning in my questioning. arghhhhh

I am unkown by local jw where I live now, hmmm, unless my family have turned in my name and/or address to them. In 12 yrs no one has come to my door that I know of. Sometimes though, I have felt it necessary to tell others, due to the fact they were asking, so where is your family? How come your parents weren't at your wedding? Don't you have brothers, sisters, aunts, cousins...Why don't they come visit you? Why are you so alone???? It is sooo embarrassing to admit where I came from being a jw and then to try and graciously accept the offers of condolence I receive. So, no, I don't hide it but I do not advertise it either. Although this past weekend a couple of friends were talking about workmates being jw and how they were unable to understand some of the jw workmate behaviour. Well, thanks to the updates and info from mostly lurking on this board I gave them an education about the cult! They were very happy to get explanations and again, I got sympathy. Sympathy is not desired, just want to feel a part of life and enjoy it. I especially resent my past when triggers are set off and my poor, sweet, (attempting) to understand husband has to take the brunt of my reactions to my past goddamm programming!

How can they be so full of themselves? Geeeeeeeez
by pennycandy ini just read this watchtower article posted in another thread by wanderlustguy.
i can't believe that the faithful and discreet slave can read such an article, boasting the magnificence of themselves, blatantly declaring themselves tested and approved by jesus himself, higher than all others, and then say, "yes, this article is true and good.
send it to the presses.

I understand completly. Every time my Dad has told me he beieves Jehovah is speaking through him and has chosen him as an elder makes my heart cry. My Dad is 80+ yrs old and at this point for him to admit he has made a mistake in his religeous beliefs would be saying his whole life from 25 yrs old on has been a waste. I just change the subject...

Why don't Jehovah's Witneses offer childrens activities?
by Dragonlady76 ini have always wondered why the jw's don't have a playroom/area or offer kids activities during the meetings.
i would imagine it's been brought to the societys attention at some point.
it just makes so much sense to offer a place where kids and go and play, where they can be read to, have them sing, color pages on bible related stories etc..... .

thank you for the report, Blondie. sad thing is, In my 27 yrs as a jw, I only saw 1 brother occasionally help control his own kids during a meeting. it was always the mother or an older daughter who took the responsibility of removing a noisy little one from the main hall. i got so tired of the dirty looks from turned heads during meetings that i just quit going. apparently it was a place for the very self centered to be able to eat of the spiritual food in order to survive the immediately upcoming destruction of all who were not in a kingdom hall. sorry, this makes me sic to my stomach and teary...
