I haven't read all the posts, just too tired tonight. But I did have a dream 'the night of' here on the west coast, of a plane hitting the towers (much less 2 planes!). but it was not as devastating as what actually did happen. But, I must add, the concern of more was imminent. sadly, that is was was to become true. So, where was I? Watching the early news then going to bed...to dream.

Did you ever feel the JW "holy spirit"
by Smiles in.
were there ever times when you were sure you could feel or see "jehovah's holy spirit" operating?.
-
hopelesslystained
nope! not! and not ever! the only time I felt anything of the "holy spirit" description, was with my ancient believers from russia. It has nothing to do with modern evangelism/christianity. What a twisted web the "christians" weave.

Are You Content With Your Life After Exiting JWs?
by minimus inor is it what the watchtower predicted it would be----utter misery?

I most certainly am. And, just as I had expected I would be. Is it because "satan" in in control of me and I don't know it? Hardly, my mind is now clear of the jw controlled thoughts. I now make decisions without the oppresive yoke of the "Society". I was raised to be controlled by them, so it was not my choice, once I was able to dispell the ingrained guilt, I left, and learned how to smile. What a simple thing, can you imagine? I had to learn to smile. All those nice "worldly" people were not really going to be extinguished. That alone made me smile. I could then/now enjoy life with all it's ups and downs. To bad most of my known family live in tierney (sp?) that is my only sadness now. I feel so sad for the lives they have and are wasteing slaving the the JWs. If there truely is a loving creator, we will know for sure when the time comes and it will not misunderstand a true heart. I trust in that. Until then? Oh my, life is good and so am I !!!

WATCHTOWER PUBLICLY ADMITS HUMAN OPINION AND NOT GOD'S SPIRIT
by Terry incan any christian imagine jesus christ taking the pharisees to court and complaining to the sanhedrin:
"stop these men from quoting me accurately--it is embarassing!"?
the pharisees twisted words for their own benefit and opposed jesus publicly for exposing their errors as errors of men spouting human opinion and passing it off as god's authority.

Excellent piece Terry!
I'm sure a great deal of their embarrassment is due to the fact they used to constantly pride themselves in stating that no changes were required to their beliefs nor ever would be and how that was so unlike the Catholics, and the rest of Christendom. This was back in the 1950's and 60's. I remember as a child how impressed I was and proud to tell others their/our claim of unchanging JW doctrines when in the door to door work.
They should be embarrassed, they've made liars out of their members! -

What does a JW have to do, to be SURE he will be saved at Armageddon?
by JH in.
write down everything a jw must do in order to be saved at armageddon.
don't leave out anything.. and maybe you can add things he musn't do either..
-

Nothing. The more you try to live up to the jw ideal, the more you as an individual will disappear or as in 'raised in' cases, will simply never develop as an individual. survival of the imagined coming of armageddon is nothing more than the carrot held on a stick in front of the donkey. there are better things to do, like, living life. and, god forgive, enjoying it!

WTS requesting insurance checks? Verification?
by EscapedLifer1 ini have read comments on several threads about the wts policy on asking folks whose homes have been repaired/rebuilt by jw volunteers to sign over their insurance checks to the wts?.
is there any kind of paper proof of this policy anywhere?
any further details would be kindly appreciated!!.

WTS "strongly" suggested that the brothers and sisters sign over their insurance checks to the WTS after the WTS had helped rebuild their house (not the original house they had but the WTS design). oh, ohhhhh excuse me, I have to leave the room...

OMG ithinkisee, you have just identified one of my own learned traits that I could not figure out where it came from. duh! having been raised a good little dub! No wonder I use all of your highlighted non commital opinions. Son of a @#$% now I am really angry. This is something that has frustrated me for years, because personality wise, I am a very direct and decisive individual, yet I catch myself monitering myself with those same explitives. Thank you, I will now work on myself from my newly identified standing point. Take care all.

tijkmo Yup it's one of the oldest stories that some guys just don't get (or at least initially). Once a woman gets close to 30, the last thing she wants is an older male lover (husband). She's just coming into her own and wants to have fun. Men, typically, past 40, just want to slow down and take things easy, often he thinks the younger female is just what he needs for the failing ego etc. Not so for the blooming 30yr old female! Been there and experienced it all. Life is many lessons learned.
