Lets face it medical costs are way out of line. I had to go to emergency at the hospital for a injury to my right knee. Two Doctors were involved in my treatment. I was sent for X rays and a consult with physiotherapy. The nurses who treated me were very nice and understanding...BUT...They sent me a bill for............$ 20.00 (Canadian) Boy was I PO'ed.Lucky my employer picked up the tab or I would have been stuck for the tab.
20.00$ is probably for the physiotherapist. MSP usually doesn't cover that.

What was your average...

My parents gave around $100/month. I mean, when your parents tell you things like "we can't afford to buy you a (enter cool thing here)" and I look at the regular contributions to the WT, I figured out what was more important to them.

Satellite Radio
by Preston ini'm looking at getting satellite radio this year, between x/m and sirius.
if any of you guys currently have it is it worth it?
i heard sirius carries absolutely no baseball whatsoever .

I wouldn't bother getting it myself. There's no guarantee that it's commercial-free. Anyway, it's illegal to get it (the sattelite service, not the radio) here in Canada until the CRTC approves it and mandates a certain amount of Canadian content.

Should I go to the Docs?
by Jordan inok, earlier i was sitting here on the pc, when my mum comes in and says it looks like i've got a lump behind my ear, i go and have a look, and she's right, there's a lump one side, but not behind my other ear, so i'm pretty sure it's not part of my skull.
now i didn't notice this before.
but after i was told about it, i swear it's starting to hurt... is it worth getting checked out by the doc, or is it one of those things you can leave and it'll go away?

One the unworrisome side of the spectrum, it could be an infection or I suppose your lymph nodes could be calcified. Or on the opposite side, it could be lymphoma or cancer somewhere. So, 'tis a good idea to get it checked out.

Do we imitate Jehovah---think about it
by TopHat insomething i have thought about mankind in general recently.
we have love, compassion, creativity, but we also have jealously and revenge in our hearts.
satan wants to imitate god too.

We'll I haven't imitated Jehovah yet. I mean, I haven't even ordered my first genocide. But I'm sure you can include both Hitler, Stalin, Milosovich, and others as true imitators of Jah.

Jeepers Cripes I'm a football junkie...
by DanTheMan insaturday i watched both the minnesota-michigan game and of course the osu-penn state game, as well as bits and pieces of the about 50 or so other college games that were being broadcast on various channels.
then i watched "buckeye football fever" - a postgame show that airs on a local tv station.. sunday morning i watched the highlights from the osu game twice, as well as a "buckeye football weekly" show where they talk about the game with the coach, do player profiles, etc.
i don't know if any other college team gets as much media attention in their respective area as the buckeyes do here in central ohio, it's something else!

I don't really like the NFL (goes too slowly). CFL is great. NHL is the best. Now, NASCAR is utterly stupid... I mean, they're going around in circles people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Any sort of Rally is fine however, but I wouldn't watch it.
Now, I really can't stand watching baseball, not b/c I don't liket the sport, but because it always prempts my favourite shows.

Should I get the New Jerusalem Bible?
by inquirer ini've already got the other catholic bible new american bible.
i've always thought it was a rather good translation, but unhappy at the verse order -- in job some verses have been taken out completely and only used in the footnotes!
this has really got me down, because it's not just in job but they have taken this course in isaiah, habakkuk and many other "minor prophet" books.

LOL. Here we haven't seen many of those around since François Mitterrand was (first) elected in 1981... didn't know it was still going on internationally.
The New Democratic Party (of which I'm a member) is a member of the Socialist International, so every once in a while you might see someone wearing a pin like that. Perhaps it has a bit of a different connnatation in France, perhaps a one of socialist solidarity against this Mittterrand fellow?

The Classicist, Where have you found your new avatar?
Oh, I just harvested it off the IUSY website. There's not many socialist avatars on line, so we need to find our own. -

I have to say that the New Jerusalem Bible is one of my favorite translations, both for its accuracy and for its footnotes. I also like the fact that since its a Catholic translation you get some extra books and even extra verses, I believe, that don't exist in the protestant translations; for instance, the end of Daniel.
If you like that, you should pick up a book edited by a person whose name has slipped my name called "The Other Bible." You should also look up "Secret Mark".
