FMZ,

but there may be hate in healing. do you imagine that people who hate must always remain hating?

" i was thinking today about hating the wts, and you know i really do, and for many reasons which i won't really get into here.. on this thought, i imagined the jwd (jesus' wacky discussion forum) website of 2000 years ago.
i'm sure many of jesus' new followers would start threads about having their hands cut off, being stoned and the secret backroom shenanigans of the pharisees.
all there is, is hate here!

ok i am a 16 year old female i love with a 16 year old male.
lol that sounds funny since everyone thinks a 16 year old can't be in love.
i understand why but let's face it now a days anything is possible.
well if he really wants to spend the rest of his life with you, then the first thing that occurs to me is that there is no need for either one of you to rush anything. at that age, one resource you both have much of is time.

i absolutely hate men that spit.. where they get the idea that it is manly to engage in this revolting practice i do not know.
every morning .
whilst waiting for the subway i see and hear the awful sounds eminating from their throats followed by a .
the real bane of 20th & 21st century urban life is the sight of gum that has been spat out onto the floor. oh america, what have you given us? & to think that the man who brought us the baleful stuff gave chicago the wrigley building.....

are all jw illustrations done by the same person?
i have always been somewhat surprised at the quality of them - i have seen children's books with more compelling and moving pictures (the enormous turnip brings tears to my eyes) - i know i'm being critical but its almost bedtime and i can't help it hehe.
blondie & all,

my own parents were caught in an unhappy socio-political climate in mid 70s britain and felt that all of man's best efforts to improve things were dooooomed. this worldview is the more pressing if you've got kids whose future is a consuming worry. chuck in some personal history problems, and they soon became so desperate that they simply opted out of the real world. i mention this because it seems to me (though it may not to others) to be similar to what Craig describes.

i have a 25y/o coworker who seems to fit the typical mold of a jw:
born in 25 years ago.
father is an elder.
invite the person to read this book - http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0415267633/qid=1108963046/sr=1-14/ref=sr_1_2_14/202-9906772-1006262 - or a thousand others like it. it says nothing about jehovah's witnesses, but it makes readers think hard, in ways that the watchtower never will. after reading such a book, the dubs' "literature" may strike your friend as being a trifle naive.

the wife of one of our lawyers is a judge here in dallas, and i overheard her husband telling a couple of other lawyers about this really tough case she has right now: deciding to issue a court order to give blood to premature twins whose parents are witnesses.
i popped in with "i'm an ex-jw -- ask me anything" so he and i started talking about the blood issue.
the father of the twins was in tears in the courtroom -- not because of his babies getting blood but because he was afraid he would be accused of giving his consent to the blood transfusion.
: I'm sorry -- that statement was a broad generalization...but I was kind of mad
Nina - ah yes, the "sooooo angry" frame of mind. been there myself. recently! *shame*. all is forgiven Nina, wish i'd never brought it up now.

: wow that was quite a story - half of me want sto believe it and the other half of me hopes that this isn't a real reflection of life at Bethel.
Qcmbr, it so is, it hurts.

one of the latest announcement letters from the wts is that people should attend special.
classes setup for the purpose of preaching to foreign language communities.
these special classes are.
i wonder if this is a tacit admission that the only viable market for their product is the "developing" world.
