What's your greatest coincidence?
by ozziepost inwell, haven't you had things happen and you just know they're not accidental ...... or are they?
some people don't 'believe' there are such things as coincidences but whatever, what's the greatest of coincidences that has ever happened to you?
kinda like "what's the most coincidental of coincidences", eh?

Fairchild... the answer to a prayer isn't always what you want.
If someone asks for faith, it is unlikely they will wake up in the morning and be more faithful! If one prays for faith, one often is given something to work through, and in the end, one has their faith built.
They prayed for the truth. What they were given was something to work through, and now we are out of the other side, we know even moreso what the truth is.
Thank you FMZ.

Hello
by sweet tee inthis is my first forum post though i've been out here reading yours for a while.
i didn't know how to post my bio.
i became a jdub at the age of 16. i had a child out-of-wedlock who was 1 year old at the time and i was searching for answers - i wanted my son to have a future and the one the witnesses portrayed was better than anything i'd ever heard!

Praying for God to show me the truth, then the jws turning up at my door an hour later !
Sigh, this has happened to me as well, which brings me back to the question I asked earlier. When you pray for something, and it happens, or it seems to happen.. how do you know if it is an answer from God, or mere coincidence?

So I attended meetings more (with my 2 small kids) as well as studying from the Insight and worship books. The more I studied, the less sense it all made!
Hmm.. this is the third person on here (including myself), who seemed to 'stumble' on the worship book. Ha, that is funny.

A long long time ago, while in my late teens, I got lost and drove into a really really really bad neighborhood one afternoon. My new polished sporty car and I stuck out like a sore thumb.
Oohh, this reminds me of one.. pretty 'funny'.
It happened in Belgium, somewhere in the eighties. I had visited a friend, and it was about two in the morning when I started to drive home. I took the short way home, which was a 5 mile long dirt road between corn and potato fields, usually only used by farmers. Right there, in the middle of the night and in the middle of nowhere, the car broke down. I decided to sleep in my car and walk to get help as soon as the sun would come up. I settled on the back seat and tried to fall asleep. All of a sudden, I heard something. The noise came closer and closer.. until I recognized it as the engine of a vehicle. Being out in the middle of nowhere, I got really scared. I decided to pretend that I was asleep. Ostriches stick their head in the sand, but there was no sand, so pretending to be alseep seemed like the second best thing to do. The vehicle stopped right behind mine (It was a small dirt road and there was not enough room to pass). I heard a knock on the windshield.. Turned out the vehicle was what they call here in the states a triple A vehicle. The guy had all the tools needed to fix my car, and he did it for free.

So, if you ardently pray to God about something, and then it happens, (like in a few of the experiences on here), how does one ever figure out if it was God helping, or just mere coincidence?? I've often wondered about that.

CoC and Search of Christian Freedom came yesterday in the mail
by ithinkisee intime to swallow the red pill.. right now both books remain unopened - sealed in the amazon.com box buried in a backpack in the trunk of my car.
i feel like i'm smuggling drugs or something.. i'll be starting coc tomorrow ... .
this is more of a vanity post than anything.

Good for you, ithinkisee. It is not an easy book to read, doesn't read a smoothly as a romance novel. I started reading CoC 3 weeks ago and I'm only on page 300 (of course work always gets in the way of reading too).
Kendal, Do you have any friends where you can have the book delivered? Perhaps even the local grocery store? Or better, why not ask the library if they can have the book delivered to them. You could pick it up there and pay for it. You can also order it through a local bookstore. That way it arrives at the book store, and not at your home. Whatever you do, don't have it delivered to your KH. (just kidding).
