Ray Franz helped save my life. I always feel some nostalgia whenever I think about my initial exit from slavery to the Witnesses. His courage inspired me.

ray has helped more people to look at their spirituality over the last 2 decades.
he is not perfect, but he has been a voice of reason and a man of integrity.

I'm having a terrific time outside of that religion just doing whatever I've always wanted to do. Regular events in life do get in the way of my posting here, but posting and reading here is still really cool. I've found that being an ex-jw is awesome because I have this unique take on life I never would have if I had grown up a normie.

Perhaps it was a sort of therapy for her. I don't really consider it rebellious to sit at a meeting and do this sort of thing because the only person that feels any suffering is the apostate having to sit through this boring stuff. It wouldn't phase me in the least bit to do this if not for having to dress up in a stuffy boring suit and sit through the talk.
Was it effective in helping people get out of the Watchtower? I can't imagine how. Was she hurt by the Watchtower and do we have a unique bond with her? I think most of us do. I say cut her some slack.

I could not put this great book down when I first got it. I was so into it that I sat on a toilet at my old job and read it for over two hours, completely oblivious to how much time I was sitting in there. Some guy came into the washroom, pounded his fist on the door and screamed, "Are you done YET??". I let out a sheepish, "Just about".

It isnt a choice if a person isnt able to believe in God due to lack of evidence. You may feel that its a choice for you because of your own perspective and understanding of the world around you but its not the same for everyone. It isnt for me. Do you think I have a bad heart condition possibly?

Pretty good weekend.
by RichieRich inthis is total and complete fluff, but i just wanted to take a minute and share how awesome my easter weekend was.. saturday night was my buddy's birthday, and our friend who is a federal agent in texas came home to visit, so we went out to one of those japanese steakhouses where they cook in front of you and do a little show.... .
and then today was my " first" easter, so i got to go to a catholic mass, and then went back home to dye easter eggs.... familiarizing myself with the directions:.

I would say that Sullivan is certainly no moron, but as far as this debate goes he is getting boot stomped by Harris, IMO. At the very least he attempts to answer the direct issues presented.
