Just received this email under the heading of Rectification of Matt24:
I received this from the sister below. I had gotten the clip from several. It sure made me realize how we'll probably feel when we do get the message that the work has been done to Jehovah's satisfaction.

Subject: URGENT NEWS:DELETE! MATT 24 SOUND CLIP from assembly!!!
To: *************************************
friends,
some of you have heard a sound clip of a brother's talk in texas on 'Matt 24:14 is now fulfilled'.
IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU STOP AND/OR DELETE THIS MESSAGE. The Governing Body did not authorize this brother to say this. unfortunately, it is being spread at the speed of light to folks.
so please send an email to all your lists that if they have received it in their email, or have sent it out, that morally you should inform everyone on your lists that this is NOT LEGIT. if you send it to everyone on your lists, then if they receive it in the future, they will be informed.
we all need to be reminded of what the FDS said in the KM, that we should try our best not to send out UNVERIFIED "news" or experiences. i know we all get so excited. and it is true that, as the clip brought out, we should all be trying to do our best before we can no longer try.
so all you dear ones, please go do this now. that will be a good thing. see letter below, esp the last sentence!

====================================
B,
Although this talk was legit, it was not authorized for this brother to make the statement and a CO contacted me and told me to pass this along to those who received that clip.
you'll probably be getting lots of these emails. J.

THe back pedalling is in full earnest. I wonder though if it was said by a GB member with the intent of getting this around the world superfast to whip the Dubz into a frenzy any way?

Anyone else end up on a JC after losing their virginity?
by yaddayadda inyep, i did.
i got 'privately reproved' after rushing to the elders to confess my sin after losing my virginity via fornicating.
i think all that shame and guilt and legalism that flowed on from that experience must've f*cked me up a bit, scuse the pun.

I often wondered about how many who grew up in it actually remained virgins until they wed.
When I was an elder, mainly females would be more likely to fess up, does that mean the young males didn't? Or do they keep it a secret? Although of the young females who did fess up, it was generally with some non jw guy, so maybe that is why not too many males came forward and repented.
How sad that we still refer to it as "fornication". Yes that is what it is, but how borgized is the expression.
Sadly I passed up plenty of opportunites, preferring to keep myself "chaste".....what a tool! -

An Example of honesty wt Feb.2007
by bobld inthe wbts has published many of these, where money is found and returned to the owner .with a reason, because i am a jw.in this issue, there is a big picture of nelma:a woman from chuzeiro do sul, brazil.she apparently found $1000.00 in the pockets of some trousers that were donated because of a flood.nelma returned the money to the businesswoman who had donated the clothing.this lady was overjoyed to receive the money, because she had set aside her payroll for her employees in a trouser pocket.. should they(gb/fds) be idolizing these honest people?.
note:no man should be idolized.christians should guard against idolatry.it means giving such a one a measure of worshipful devotion.but god explicitly stated that he does not tolerate such a thing.however, they (gb/fds) lack proper perspective,of knowledge and understanding of honest people helping people.it is as if by exalting a fellow human creature they are lifting themselves up also.. now here is an example from the world.. this is from a wordly newspaper.yes i know the wts says these are half truths.i will not quote the whole article.
"i am contacting your newspaper in the hope that i may be able to puplicly thank the good samaritans who helped me when my truck broke down on the highway just......on date.in my distress,i regrettably failed to get the name of this kind young man from...who went home to get a vehicle that could tow my vehicle back to the city.and than to top it off, drove me to get a room for the night.my thanks are also extended to the hotel owner to drove me to my truck.he gives more praise.......thank you for the opportunity to express my gratitude to all who assisted me to return home safely".

Ive known witnesses that found money and kept it.
<br>I read about a kid who found $10,000, handed it in to the police...he wasnt a witness. Lotsa witnesses deal in cash or cheat on their taxes or preach to fellow workers on the bosses time....or speed or drive after drinking......... -

Congregation member lists: do they still use them? Current Dubz only!
by MinisterAmos infor some reason (read they are afraid that exiting jws will use them to "stumble" other bros.) my new congo will not issue the normal member list with names, addies, numbers and congo appointments; the same list that everyone uses to call their jw buddies over for a booze party.. i was switched to this new congo two or so years ago and since have heard of two other congos that have stopped distributing lists.
since i have only inquired of two congoes, i ass-ume that the distribution of "friends" personal info is now forbidden?.
please comment all you current members/faders.

These lists are another example of straining the gnat and swallowing the camel. There were never any official list where I came from.
I was the secretary and used the Secretary program. You could use it to print a complete list on names and phone numbers. I used to include them on the book study list that I handed out to the conductors with the monthly bible bashing report.
We had an over officious elder move in who wanted a copy of the whole lot, I told him I dont usually hand the full thing out, but he insisted. He likes to keep tabs on every one.
You'd think that with all the privacy laws these days hand them out, even to "approved" publishers would be a no no, but then how else can you keep everyone subdued in dubdom? -

Why don't JW friends come over and say hello?
by JH ini always wondered why jw's didn't stop by to say hello, just to encourage or by friendship?.
but if i showed up at the hall, after many months, they would be happy to see me, and would come to talk to me, and ask what,s going on in my life as if they were really interested in me.
so, if they were happy to see me at the hall, why wouldn't they be happy showing up at my place too.. why is it that only the elders come over to see me once in a blue moon?.

I had been thinking along these lines the other day. So some may know that we fade due to reason XYZ. Leaving the issue aside, what if they just called in, rang...only to say hello [not addressing XYZ] but worked hard to stay in touch, would that make fading harder?
Most seem scared to even say hello down the street, shopping etc, like we are some kind of monster [the monsters are still allowed to go to meetings!].
Like you, I dont get it. Very thin veil called friendship!
