  this is probably a really stupid question.

  when i was in the org.

  there was a huge rumor circulating that there is a sign that says "no jw's allowed" in the viewing room of the u.n.. there is probably no truth to this but every so often i hear it.

  When we went to NewYork on a Society charter trip once, we all went around the U N, and took the full tour with no frowns from the Org.

  it's been a strong desire of mine for the 20 some odd years since i've beeb df'd.. what do you guys think?

  should i go this year and make everyone's jaw drop??

  Dont bother mate! - if you want a drink of wine their are much better bars, and no less full of spirit.

  It pains me to say that after attending Memorials best part of my life , even conducting them, and always past I felt it really was something special, now I see the special feeling is imparted by those who want it to be special, not from God.

  The expession "Genuine Annointed" is a noticeable cover up for bad maths.

  They cannot turn to people and say "No"to their claim , but they let it run on the grapevine that many in "New territories", ex Catholic or Orthodox have clung to their heavenly hopes, and are in for disappointment.

  In fact if H/Spirit did direct it, it would not happen would it?

  can anyone give me scriptural proof that we will be resurrected to life on earth?

  i can't find anything except scriptures that talk about a resurrection to heaven.

  Having just dusted off my Aid Book and Reasoning From the Scriptures, I would once have used Ps.37, and John 5 28-30. But now I have to say, er, No !
  They do not clearly and uniquivocally say what once thought they did.

  The trouble is that they are so damn brainwashed ,they dont care!

  My wife wont believe it.

  The elder I spoke to laughed and said that there is bound to be a simple explanation . In their eyes the Gov Bod can do no wrong.

  Do you remember George Orwell's "Animal Farm", the carthorse just obediently plodded along with whatever the Pigs said to do, and in the end they worked him to death... same mentality I fear

  Worldly Husbands

  larc has an interesting thread going about why jw men choose to date (and beyond) worldly women in lieu of dating the seemingly overbundant supply of 'horny' sisters available.

  i recommend it.. it set me to thinking about yet another interesting phenomena in jwdom.

  that is the situation where the jw woman has, as a husband, a 'non-believer'.

  Just some thoughts;

  My dad was a non believer,they married long before Mum "Got the Truth" I know that she would have loved him to join us in it. She was sincere.

  I recall over the years, sister A , husband eventually studied,baptised , but a bit later smoked again and was disF. From what A said they were happier before hand and this gave him peace and quiete on Tuesday and Thusday nights when she was out.

  Sis. J married out of the T. but he came in and she spends the nexy 25 years moaning because he is not as much fun as he was .

  Sis.T used to often tell us that she was looking forward to getting a better husband in the New Order when the present unbeliever had perished

  I am sure there is some mileage in the premise that some people dont always want to have to share more with the husband, and enjoy an escape to the Hall

  Where were you when you first came here?

  i noticed in a couple of threads people discussing the impact this board would have on jw's with doubts coming here and reading the messages.

  it got me to wondering where most people that post here were at...what stage in their jw/ex jw process...when they started reading and/or posting here.

  also curious, when you did come here what was your main focus?

  I was inactive, due to doubts and feeling that there must be something wrong somewhere, then in November 1999 the Kingdom Ministry published a wonderful insert "Use of the Internet - Be Alert to the Dangers" , telling us that there was a world of Naughty information out there.

  That was it ! I learned how to surf the net at the local library, wow ! the K M was right, since discovering Freeminds and this board I have never looked back . It's becoming addictive .

  . The first question is:
  On the basis of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, have you repented of your sins and dedicated yourself to Jehovah to do his will?
  The second is:
  Do you understand that your dedication and baptism identify you as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in association with God’s spirit-directed organization?

  Also , we always referred to the 80 questions in the "Oganisation Book fo pre baptism discussion. Of course the candidate could prepare witha copy of the book but not answer from it.
