    Welcome Jamaica and Jan!

When I was attending meetings there were 70 questions that an elder would ask and you would have to answer correctly to qualify for baptism. Usually, someone that is interested has a bible study with someone who is qualified to prepare you. Baptism is always a serious step and definitely not to be taken lightly.

    *** w85 6/1 30 Subjecting Ourselves to Jehovah by Dedication ***
    . The first question is:
On the basis of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, have you repented of your sins and dedicated yourself to Jehovah to do his will?
    The second is:
Do you understand that your dedication and baptism identify you as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in association with God’s spirit-directed organization?

Also , we always referred to the 80 questions in the "Oganisation Book fo pre baptism discussion. Of course the candidate could prepare witha copy of the book but not answer from it.

The Bible sets forth two basic requirements for Salvation, as follows:

...to believe in one's heart and mind that Jesus is the Son of God and that he died for our sins and was resurrected to life in heaven.

...to be baptised in outward manifestation of this belief and the symbolic washing away of past sins, being transferred by the holy spirit as a person into the Body Of Christ.

This is all that is required! The WT cult does its belaboring heavy yoke thing, in stark contrast to the simplicity of God's magnificent arrangment.

The WT ignores the workings of the Holy Spirit in preparing a person's conscience for the need of baptism. The WT elects to decide for itself at which point a person is worthy of baptism.
