Good morning everyone.I haven't been on here much in recent months so have missed the back story to this.
My heart goes out to you, Atlantis and to Petra. Is there some link that can bring me up to speed? Many thanks in advance. Steve
you are what she wanted to be!please, let us remove any blame to anyone right up front.
what happened to petra was not the fault of mark o'donnell, listener, corney, mike and kim, or anyone else.. constant rejection and shunning even at an early age, the depression was storing up inside of her.
she was shunned inside the hall and outside the hall.

has there been any topics about the november watchtower campaign— what is gods kingdom?
.
This is a religion whose time is well and truly over.
The world has not ended, honey; it has moved on.
the latest study wt gives another glowing report from rutherford's time:.
in his talk, brother rutherford identified those whowould make up the “great multitude” (king james ver-sion), or “great crowd,” mentioned at revelation 7:9. un-til then, this group was thought to be a secondary heav-enly class that was less faithful.
brother rutherford usedthe scriptures to explain that the great crowd are notchosen to live in heaven, but they are christ’s othersheep who will survive “the great tribulation”.
With the great tribulation just ahead,
it would be encouraging for us to review
what Revelation chapter 7 further says
So says the current Watchtower, using the same breezily confident language about the great tribulation being "just ahead" that Rutherford and his generation used so very many decades ago and most, if not all the adults from that time long dead and buried.
Such fools then, such greater fools now...
here is a brother who really thinks that elders are there to help him after admitting that he cheated on his wife.
his conscience is bothering him to the point of letting elders know all the details of his affair.
( his affair should have been private, between himself and his wife ).
Is his wife included in the judicial process? Is she at home waiting for the outcome? What about her legitimate needs? Why can't the couple have the option of treating this as a private matter that they can equip themselves to work out together in private? Why does the shadow of the organiuzation - and elders in particular - have to hang over a marital issue? Why does it have to become a judicial matter? There are trained professionals who are accountable by dint of their professional bodies to responsibly and appropriately handle these kinds of private matters.
Look at the body language of these religiously motivated untrained men. Imagine if the woman was the one who committed adultery - the idea of three men sitting in the room with the woman sounds totally inappropriate and distasteful.
JW organization is an example of a high control group that exploits the created need to "confess" so that the private actions of consenting adults becomes grounds for religious trials.
Compare that to the norm in which private matters remain private to the concerned individuals who can be equipped to handle such matters without the busy-body moralizing of a patriarchal system of control.
i found this interesting observation .
u/mistermark21imagine if the jw religion was a person.
some guy who thinks that:.
One person has persecutory beliefs: He/she is probably delusional
More than one person shares the same persecutory beliefs: They're probably religious.
i just saw the congregation analysis report for 2020, a form i have not noticed before.
it asks for the number of "active publishers.
" this is a term i have not seen specified before.
My recollection as a former PO and Secretary is that “Active Publishers” has been on the analysis report for several years now Paul.
Agreed. This is not new - although, as others have guessed, this may well become a part of their annual Service Year Report for 2020 - given the dramatic hit numbers in each category will have taken due to Covid-19.
most of the individuals here from what i have read have gravitated to believing in evolution for various reasons and no longer have a belief in a creator.. the questions begs though, is there a higher conscious in the universe than mankind's.
i am sure everyone agrees that animals are conscious, but to what extent can they reason?.
here is the link to dr. rupert sheldrake's - is the sun conscious.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sfhsobpja8a.
the jws in my country can't preach to anyone these days and they're going crazy.
i live in romania and initially during the covid-19 lockdown they were very enthusiastic about preaching.
they've since held daily "field service meetings" on zoom.
One of the main kingdom halls in Christchurch, New Zealand, hasn't been open for meetings since March - even though the country moved back into level 1 in July following the highest level 4 when meetings were not allowed. What gives that they still don't use kingdom halls months later?
it has no value at all.
it consists of 99% dumb, confused kids asking stupid hypothetical questions.
exJW reddit has a noticeably high volume of traffic so it is relatively easy to spot perhaps the more superficial posts (e.g., look at me with a tattoo on my shoulder). That said, there are a number of heart-rending posts that elicit a high degree of moral support and the level of advice is on the main, responsible. Yes, it does seem to appeal to a different audience of exJWs and/or PIMOs.

The worst of exJW reddit is as you say but the best is worth checking out. Perhaps it was the time when you checked in, but the moderators have attempted to highlight the more thoughtful posts and put less emphasis on memes and photos. One thing I have noticed is the number of well written posts by younger PIMOs or exJWs.
The reddit moderators do not intrude beyond reminding posters of the need to follow the rules. One of the difficulties I have with this forum is it does descend from time to time to a degree of ill-tempered posts decrying either the right or (more likely) the left with the level of debate down to who can make the most controversial statements about "some" exJWs. But I also acknowledge that this forum is a platform for some of the most compelling posts on moving on from JW organization I have ever read.
