you will get people from time to time, who try to offer some sort of corrective action on your behavior.
maybe they say something like, "i think you should say that differently" or "you topic is something i think belongs elsewhere.
It's truly unfortunate that we live in a society where what we do, what we say, where we go, who do we
talk to, how we answer questions on forums etc. etc. are many times related to others in content that
some may see as controversial to them. Those others may be people that have some kind of influence
over us, either socially, religously or whatever.

i saw an obituary last week- and elder i knew from the beginning had died- a faithful jw dub to the end.. he was baptised in 1939. his parents were part of the russell movement and died claiming to be annointed.
i just wondered how anyone could spend his entire life being duped by the watchtower propaganda.
i left so many tracts at his kh in 1989-90, that they posted a guard in the parking lot to keep me from hand billing the cars.
I imagine the Governing Body is overjoyed with the fact that they were able to keep someone in for so very long. Keep that money comin' on in !

they might be movies about major disasters killing off the world (deep impact) or maybe movies about a world after civilization has fallen (the postman, waterworld).
i even like those movies that show society falling apart in alien invasions (war of the worlds, independence day).

given that so many practises associated with christmas are blatantly christian in origin, is christmas truly for pagans?.
i know that often there are few christian connotations attributed to it nowadays, in such a secularised society, but history is on record in showing that the whole baby jesus thing is definitely a christian element.
would any true pagan today want to drink such a mixed cup?.
A long time ago, in the 60's and 70's, our generation believed that Christmas was extremely commercialized and that we all should shy away from that kind of thinking . . .which, in a way, was a good thing to do. Now, as a more mature adult, I still don't really care about the physical aspects of Christmas, ( the over-the- top gift giving baloney ) however, I love to watch children become enthralled with the majesty of it all. And, I also, try to suspend my disbelief - of humanity and all it's ills, and try to know, as in to fully feel and understand the spirit of love and sharing. Isn't that one of the messages of Christmas?
Don't spoil Christmas for whatever reason . . .it is a good thing.
