  Cow dung mushrooms? Anyone heard of this?

  i played golf with a guy on friday that said a fad in the 80's was a mushroom that only grew in cow dung?.

  was he pulling my leg?

  he said it sent you on a lsd type trip.. i told him i would not put anything in my mouth that came from any dung, maybe use it as a topical solution, but not orally.. breeze

  i visited my jw son and daughter - who were raised in the faith - in may.

  my son is 37 years old, intelligent and is a hard worker and a good provider for his family.

  we were having breakfast when my daughter-in-law mentioned the ' lump' on my sons back.

  I visited my JW son and daughter - who were raised in the faith - in May. My son is 37 years old, intelligent and is a hard worker and a good provider for his family.
  

  We were having breakfast when my daughter-in-law mentioned the ' lump' on my sons back. My son removed his shirt and showed me a palm-sized fatty lump of tissue on the upper right side of his back. He told me he discovered it a couple of months ago ( March ). Long story short, I have since that time been unable to convince him to have a biopsy. He tells me he is taking herbs and vitamins for it ! My sister and I have pleaded with him to get it checked out by a specialist . . . as of this date no luck. My ex-wife ( their JW Mother ) of 30 years loves herbs and vitamins to treat sickness. Herbs and vitamins have their place in healing, but not in this case ! I am shocked to discover that my smart, hard working son is not taking the most basic of precautions concerning his health.

  I have long known that JW's shy away from traditional medicine, but this is absolutely absurd. Please someone tell me if this is conventional behavior for JW's and if you have any insight into how I can approach this situation I would be forever thankful.

  I dont want to face death

  i just heard that two of the fathers of childhood friends of mine, one of them the first boy i ever loved, and the other the head of a good catholic family with eight kids who lived across the street from us, died within days of each other.

  im my mind, those families are frozen in time about 35 years ago when i last saw any of them, and i couldnt conceive of them being gone.. i dont know why but those two men being gone really got to me.

  i wasnt close to them or anything but it brought home the very real thought that my own parents are going to go soon...and leave me and my two sibs on the planet to carry on.

  If you made someone I loved believe the above and they died because of it, I would see to it that you would be faced with the same situation in the very near future.
