I knew a brother who had fist holes in some of his doors. He would loose his temper over something and then punch through the doors

What was the nastiest house you got invited into?
by Virgochik inwe actually has a study with a disabled elderly couple living in a trailor.
it was wall to wall filth, rat infested and smelled awful.
i was a child, but mom and dad brought me along anyway.

I bought a cross.
by lostlantern ini will consider this my first act of spiritual freedom.
i bought myself a celtic cross, i will admit i picked one out that i hope isn't recognizable to my parents.
i know it is pathetic to be 31 and still afraid of what they think but i am not ready to lose them.

Sunspot, you can feel the glee in buying cross jewelry and i can understand the feeling of liberation and rebellion but what is it about crosses that's so attractive, why not a star of David or something. is it the religious aspect or just because they are fashionable and that everyone else has one?

are British people boring?
by Ellie in.
i've just read a news article that stated that in a recent international survey, britain was voted the best country in the world, but the british people the most boring.. i do wonder what people think of us brits, they seem to have some wild idea that we all drink tea and play cricket, they seem quite unaware of the loutish behaviour that many of us are embaressed about.. what do you think?

I will always be Scottish first, still have my accent, (we never lose it usually..........did you Slugga?) - So there!
Yep mines still there but mellowed a lot so that the locals can understand me
best wishes from D (still knows how to give a "Glesga kiss". Oh Slugga, SLUGGA, pucker up big boy)
Chucks on the bucket and gives deekis one back... and who told you I was a "big boy"
Talking about my accent though, I once went off to Florida with a brother for three weeks. We went out on fs there and it was a disaster. He was from Essex but everyone thought he was an Aussie and NO ONE, NO ONE at all understood a word I was saying, i was like the most useless Dub on gods earth for those three weeks. I put my hand up at a meeting once and gave an answer that no one understood and the elder stood there gob smacked trying to translate what I'd said before saying something like "Oh ok"

What Things Did You Think Were "Demonized"?
by minimus ineverything, when i was growing up was connected to "demonism".
handwriting analysis was borderline.
wind chimes would bring the demons right to your porch!

I was lucky as a kid my father wasn't "in" and my mum was fairly balanced so nothing was demonised but I used to hate brothers and sisters that would try telling me things like barbies, books and second hand y fronts were demonised. To me stuff like that is just dub superstition.
Show me a scripture where an inanimate object is possessed by an evil spirit and I'll eat my hat.
I used to have a mate that was into lizards and snakes, his mum wouldn't let him have a snake in the house though as she thought they were satanic. She threatened to get the elders onto us because we were showing an interest in them lol

this leads to understanding and concern.

LOL you're still gonna get your ass busted for saying its a Celtic knot. See those three rings interlinked, they represent the three aspects of the holy trinity, the father, the son, and the holy ghost.
Personally I'd wear it and not give a hoot what your parents think.

Princess Diana's murder was arranged
by pratt1 in.
in today's new york daily news mohamed al fayed, the father of dodi, who died in that paris tunnel along with princes di, is quoted as saying the the "nazi" prince philip, prince charles' father ordered a british secret agent to kill the couple.. do you believe there is any truth to this, or is this a greiving father grasping at straws to reconcile his son's death?

HOW TO SPOT A 'TRUE' CHRISTIAN
by unclebruce inafter many years studying ancient history and being comfortable as a taoist i'm starting to accept that jesus the man might not have been such a bad bloke.
after researching the history of the jewish struggle against the romans my jesus has gone from a vague paulian myth to a man i can respect and admire.
an underground fighter against oppression.

They'd probably like that because it would be seen to strengthen race relations. Having said that, Prince Philip is a well known racist and i think that may well have got him all hot under the collar. That fact's probably not gone unnoticed by Dodi's Daddy, hence the accusations
