UN Library Card Excuse.
by Englishman ina coupie of nights ago, i was sat watching an old video-clip of the village people singing "ymca"on tv.
the thought occured to me that the wt most likely have a down on the ymca (they have a down on most things), so i searched ymca on my wt library cd.. well, that was interesting all right.
however, one part of the article reminded me of brooklyns excuse for being party to the un as an ngo.

it is a great film although the following analysis will spoil the film if you havent seen it so - dont read on, just watch it.
i am posting this here as there are several interesting religious themes running through the film:.

WHY, this film was also in open TV last night, in Brazil (on Rede Globo, the major open TV broadcaster).
Maybe there's some conspiracy going on... hehe.
BTW, nice review!

Time To Put Prayer On Hold?
by Englishman inthis huge tsunami disaster.
thousands and thousands dead, others in grave danger of deadly disease, grieving parents seeking their children, whole families decimated.. in all good conscience, how can anyone who is untouched by this, pray to god for his usual ration of daily bread?
our needs being so miniscule and even petty in comparison with the tsunami victims, how can we possibly ask god for anything at the moment?.

As long as the 10 builders don't say afterwards: "we're so thankful that GOD gave us a house"!

Covenant with Noah, VOID!!! So much for the rainbow..........
by deceit inwas it not jehovah?s promise to never kill humans again by means of massive floods?
i guess knocking on 100,000 deaths is just a minor slip-up.
knowing the response of jw's to the horrible situation in asia and their reasoning of it, makes me feel indescribably sick in the stomach!

Isn't Jesus' sacrifice supposed to redeem humankind from "Adam's Choice"? Which is stronger? Sin or Forgiveness (for those who believe it, anyway)?
Natural accidents have nothing to do with Adam. That can be seen from the simple fact that they could have been minimized by scientific knowledge.

JW reaction to the UN coverup
by redskymedic inso, if you handed a jw a copy of the un report on the wtbs involvement, how do they react?

And what exactly could they find in the UN library that was so important to the troof that it could not be found elsewhere?
After all, if it was something of minor importance, they could have chosen any major library, couldn't they? -

Nothing fails like prayer.
If you need a house built, you can either (a) have a million people praying for it to happen; or (b) getting 10 people to ACTUALLY built it.
Which would you prefer?
Prayer is OK when there's nothing humans can do. But on my part, I'd rather get some action going.

God did not give those victims any choice... your reasoning is clearly faulty.

I don't celebrate holidays, and other "reformed JW" things about me........
by WingCommander inwhile i don't agree with the wt's views on shunning, blood transfusions, or how they conduct themselves, i can honestly say i wouldn't celebrate holidays even if i felt like it.
maybe it's that i've been brought up jw, i dunno.
halloween is sort of fun, but i know of it's pagan origins.

Hey, Gary. That's a sobering thought! If I were still a witness, the same could happen between me and my children... fortunately we're out of it!
