Another letter from WBTS re: UN Scandal
by Gadget inquite a while ago i mentioned to my parents about the un scandal but they didn't seem too interested, but when i called in the other day my mother mentioned it to me again.
they had a elder and his wife (family friends who i was previously very very close to) staying with them for the convention and discussed it with them.
the elders wife is a very strong personality and super-spiritual but when she heard of the scandal back in spring she had a huge problem with it.

Convention Drama, an example of Anachronistic Propaganda
by VM44 inthe recent 2005 "godly obedience" convention drama is an example of an anachronism!
and of propaganda!.
so why is the dram an example of anachronistic propaganda?.

Yes,I have to agree,it was pure propaganda. It wasn't that long ago they were saying higher education was now ok,now they've reverted back to their old way of thinking. No wonder the average jw is so confused.

An End To Shunning
by Sunspot inwell, in my case anyway.
for those of you that may recall my posts about my family and that after i left the wts, how i wrote long (and painful) letters to my nonjw children among others.
i had tried to explain why i had shunned them and how very sorry i was, and for all the mistakes i had made throughout their childhoods as a jw mother.

Ex-jw who joined as adults: How did you come to trust your own conscience?
by Check_Your_Premises insorry no raised-a-dub responses here!
just ex-jw who joined as adults.
on another thread i pointed out the idea that most jw who join as adults, do so out of a need to compensate for or as a reaction to some bad experiences such as physical abuse, sexual abuse, a time of upheaval, or just a plain old poorly developed sense of self.

When the letter campaign hit us,only 4 of us dared say it was wrong.Three of us are no longer associated with the jw's.
I believe I had grown as a person enough by then to stand on my own.I knew right away that this letter stuff was wrong and I even said that the complete body of elders had to be removed because they were not united and only one of them was strong enough to stand up to the PO.Everybody knew the PO ruled with an iron fist and you couldn't challenge his authority.

I left because I had a bad experience that led me to doubt the divine appointment of the WTS as god's approved organization on earth.
The PO wrote a letter to all male members of the congregation(baptized and unbaptized) telling them about their field service activities and where they needed to improve.Anybody who wasn't averaging 10 hours a month.no matter what their circumstances, immediately lost any privileges they had.The letter also said we'd be reviewed on a quarterly basis(every 3 months) and that adjustments would be made accordingly.Apparently none of the elders had seen this letter until some of us started showing them. There was no disciplinary action taken against the PO.Once he realized the damage he had done he made a tearful apology for writing us a letter(not for the damage he did) and got away with it.The CO even sided with him.It was downhill for our congregation after that and 7 years later there is still some effects being felt.
I'm planning on on having my letter posted on the internet some time soon.I feel ready now to let everyone see the hypocrisy we had to live with here.
btw,the only elder who stood up against the wrongful letter campaign was soon removed.

What does the book "What does the Bible really teach?" really teach?
by googlemagoogle inwhat does the book "what does the bible really teach?
" really teach?
i'm a assembly 2005 survivor.

The book teaches us that the WTS really doesn't have anything new to teach, they're just re-hashing the old stuff under a new format.

Told my nonJW brother-in-law I'm done with the JW thing
by ithinkisee ini am slowly ramping up the wheels of apostacy and have begun telling a few people to help brace the fallout of me telling my wife.
i have many relatives that aren't jws - both on my side and on my wife's side.
i've already told my dad (who was never a jw - to which i am eternally grateful), and some nonjw business people that i am also friends with.. my wife's brother was never a jw.

Nobody among jehovah's witnesses is doing anything to reform their many problems;they're all... Waiting ...on Jehovah, that's why anybody with a real conscience will eventually leave the jw's,willing or unwillingly.

I'm not df'd or da'd,I just don't attend meetings anymore.I don't claim to be a jw and I've written a list of 30 questions that some elders have seen through my wife.Nobody's talked to me yet.
I have the same attitude as uncle Gary B.,if they come after me,I'll disfellowship them for teaching lies as "truth".
