That's a very good tought Tall Penguin.I think at times we all used that reasoning as jw's.Is it from Jehovah or Satan?

Letting go of the black and white thinking...
by tall penguin ini think that this is the most difficult lesson in leaving the jw world.
the black and white thinking created such a neat little world where everything was so easily explained and categorized, provided you didn't mind living in a bubble.
i think the one area of black and white thinking that caused me the most difficulty and cognitive dissonance was the question of jehovah's will vs. satan's temptations.

Congratulations guys!!!
I followed your husband's posts last year and it was the best story on jwd.I wish with all my heart that my wife would do like you and open her eyes to the "truth" but she seems determined to stick to it no matter how many errors are taught as truth.
It's great to have you here and I look forward to reading more of your posts.

Bizarre JW stories of enduring hardship
by Vormek2.8 ini remember hearing of a faithful older brother who was attacked by vicious dogs while in service.
even though his clothes were shredded and he was bleeding he continued walking door to door to finish his assigned territory for that day.

I remember the story of the brother who was a pioneer living on "Jehovah's gonna take care of me"...anyways he went in service one day and after along day of pioneering he was walking home.He was very hungry and had nothing to eat at home but he was confident Jehovah would provide. Then this guy pushing a carriage of cabbages sees him and throws a cabbage at him along with a few jehovah insults.Well the brother's trust in jehovah was rewarded and he had a fine meal of cabbage that night.

YES!!!
Like Dansk ,the 607 thing was working on me but information was really hard to find. All I had were quotes from encyclopedias at the library that all pointed to 586/87.The internet really helped me speed up my exit.

Ex Elder Friend Tells Me There Are Now Only 45 Persons That Attend
by minimus inwhen i left a couple of years ago, the average meeting attendance on a sunday was about 70. a couple of years before that it was about 90. now only 45 people attend the meetings.
he said the bookstudies average 9 per week at the kingdom hall (which used to be the biggest one)!!!
it's got to be extremely discouraging to see no one is left.

I was at my dad's today and he told me he didn't think there was 40 people at the meeting this morning. That hall must look quite empty now,at one time there used to be about 100 every Sunday morning. That's a lot of empty seats, hard to not notice so many people not there anymore.I don't expect it to improve this year. And I remember back in 1986 they were so excited they were talking about building a new hall or splitting the congregation.Don't hear that anymore.

I got a delivery today from Commentary Press.....
by troubled mind ini'm so excited , i'm almost giddy .
wow ,ray has a lot to say, these books are thick !
which one should i start with or does it matter ?

Wow,It's really amazing how many people are reading those books.I recommend CoC first then ISoCF second.I read CoC at least 3 times and I'm presently reading ISoCF for the second time. They both have very valuable information.A lot of things I was thinking but didn't know how to put in words and a lot of simple reasoning that proves the WTS is not God's sole channel or his "organization".
Aude:Glad you enjoyed that thread,I didn't realize it was a year already. And yes there were a lot of interesting stories about purchasing a book, unbelievable.I was really proud my thread made it onto Freeminds' net soup.

Matthew 24:40-41:"Then two men will be in the field:one will be taken along and the other be abandoned;two women will be grinding at the hand mill:one will be taken along and the other be abandoned"
I don't think they'll run out of scriptures to cover their asses. But as I've said already, they are ...slowly imploding... .
