  Eddie Van Halen. Eruption (Van Halen) is considered by most of the other guitar gods to have changed guitar solos. Also Spanish Fly (Diver Down) is a great acoustic solo.

  Randy Rhoads. He was killed way before his time.

  the following is a true story that happened to my uncle henrie which left me speachless : .

  henrie is a french canadian who is 45 and travels with his girlfriends in the usa far from their home.

  but they ran out of cash, food and had nowhere to stay.

  i posted a week or two ago that i would stop attending meetings and being an elder.

  i decided to wait on this after we received the june 7th boe letter.

  i was interested in getting more information from other friends & family at bethel.

  when i was growing up as a "devout" jw's i ran into countless of born-again christians(bacs) that would tell me i was going to hell, i was in a "cult", jw's were the "anti-christ" the wts was "satanic" and we were going to burn in the lake of fire for all eternity.

  can you imagine how i felt as a jw's working at a place with 10 bacs telling me this at lunch time.

  but still i would treat them nice and play cards with them and never openly judge them.

  Booker the Church of Christ is a high controlling church that borders on, if not is, a cult. I think you might be better off looking for a Calvary Chapel or some other non-denominational church.

  it really makes me angry when they say i love jehovah.

  they don't know what they are talking about.

  if they read with an open mind the carry-ons of this cruel mesopotanian god they would feel ridiculous and embarrassed for putting this god before their family, their children.

  Fourth of July

  i was just wondering.......i know jw are not allowed to celebrate the fourth, in fact it can we a jc issue, but where we live there is a huge celebration downtown and every year i see 90% of the witnesses i know down there, "not celebrating".

  they are doing the same thing all the other "wordly" people are doing to celebrate the fourth...and alot of times jw will buy fireworks and let them off the day before, as if thats different.....how do they justify this???

  does anyone else have anything around them that jw will participate in but not call celebrating????

  It's the same difference that my mother & father claimed when we would have a get together on the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend. During which we would stuff ourselves with turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie, apple pie, etc.

  If it's not on the day, then it's not a "worldly" celebration.

  Rights to Premiership games - if you're talking about the English one - as far as I know are owned exclusively by Sky tv.

  Isn't Sky TV is owned by Rupert Murdoch, who owns Fox, here in the States?

  I just signed up for Fox Soccer Channel, which I presume will televise Premiership games. But I also want to follow Serie A, La Liga, Bundesliga, Brazil & Argentina. Any good English links for those leagues?
