Well, it's given me something to watch after real football season is over, and the good awful spring doldrums begin, ie. basketball & hockey seasons.

Spain looked very good this morning. At least during the part I was watching (I had to leave for work around the 15 minute mark in the 2nd half). And thye still weren't done scoring. I thought that the pnalty kick call was bad. But I'm sure that's obvious to you folks. Please be nice, btw, I am trying to learn. The more I watch this sport the more captivated I am by it's fluidity.

Some apostates are more equal than others...
by slimboyfat inever noticed that the most cleverest apostates are the ones that were "brought up in the truth"?
i mean people like little toe, leolaia and narkissos who provide the most intelligent dicsussions on the forum - they never chose the witnesses, but were dragged up in it.
do you think maybe they can't help but look down on the rest of us who were stupid enough to actually choose to become witnesses?

I don't consider myself "more equal", and I was essentially raised in the "Truth." WHat I do know is that I don't take things at face value, especially when it comes to religion. In fact I have a certain reputation with the leadership of my church as being a person that will stretch them. You see I ask questions. I don't ask them in front of other people, nor do I say that they are wrong in those circumstances. I also don't correct every error I hear. Mainly, because people tend to get turned off by that. Think about do you want to be with someone that is constantly correcting everything you do or say. This is were tolerance comes in.

I find it funny that just the other day you were claiming that you are not a JW.I am not an active JW. I don't believe in JWism. I am agnotic in matters of faith. I just believe that apostates should fairer, more honest and even handed in their criticisms of Jehovah's WItnesses. This making up stuff about "Theocratic Warfare" and satanic images, and UN nonsense and the whole lot simply will not do. We don't have to believe as JWs do, but let's be fair now. Slim

Yet on this thread you are bemoaning the getting up and going to the meetings.
I guess you must be applying Theocratic warfare.

Intolerance - a new breed of ex-JW
by LittleToe in.
i cant help but think of the analogy of pendulum swings when i think about how vitriolic some are towards religion (of any description), the bible (and other scripture), and christianity (generally, regardless of there being a wide range of denominational flavours) in particular.. it seems to me, from my perspective of sitting here on a remote scottish island, that there are a fair number of folks who may have left an intolerant and generalising religion but forgot to leave those attitudes with it.. just my 2p, coz to be frank i'm getting sick of it.. by all means enjoy some self-expression, it's a relatively free planet, but have a heart....

I've been sitting at my PC for 15 minutes wondering if I should respond to this thread.Too many times in the past I have wound believers up and been accused of proseltysing for athiesm. I've been accused of intolerance and a lack of respect and all I've ever done is post honestly and, I believe, fairly.
Should I throw my views in one more time? What difference would it make?
Nicolaou,
I, for one don't have a beef with atheists. Quite honestly I don't have a beef with anyone. What I have a beef with is the hypocrisy, scorn, ridicule, and condecension.
If you post honestly, then good for you. However, I have seen too many acidic remarks from the "anti-God squad" to really believe that they are either honest or fair.

Still,
Get out. Get out before your life passes you by, and you wonder what happened.
I was in the same position you are in, and I chose to stay in. This is the biggest regret I have in my life.

I hate soccer and the world cup. Yesterday I had trouble driving home because there were too many crazy Italians in the streets waving their flags around.
Thank God Mexico played on Sunday morning. Living in the little Tijauna that I do traffic would have been hell getting to work.
