What Exactly Does DESTROY Mean?

you know, the jews were a warlike people.

the god they worshipped was entirely different than the loving father revealed by jesus.. hasn't it occured to anyone that when this god of love states that evil will be destroyed, that you will look for it but it will be gone, that what is meant is that the love of god has erased all traces of evil from the person practicing it?

you've known people like this; people who were at one time evil and who have rid themselves of it.

Also impotent due to "impotency" of modern man. lol

Peeps today are not even marrying as often, have less
offspring than before, delaying having children. And wanting
them to get an education.

As those dear ol stats show, the growth comes from within, NOT
the d2d mission.

In a few short years the majority of the world will have access
to the greatest equalizer in man's history, the internet. When
information flows across all borders, barriers, cultures and is
available instantly and nearly free to all, the future will bring
unprecedented change that will be the downfall of rigid dogmatic
tradition bound institutions be they commercial, educational,
governmental or religious. The world's population is going to
become empowered beyond what we could have imagined even
just a few years ago. We are priveledged to see it taking place
for so many minorities and the wonderful results that accrue.

just suppose that jw's had got it right about 1975, and that we are now in the 26th year of the 1000 year reign.. so, how are we spending our time?.

i guess that we're not watching boxing on the telly.

probably not enjoying any barbecues with the meat eating ban.

If I will be working towards perfection will my
"handicap" improve? Will I continue to improve?
Will I always have a handicap? Just how perfect
will my swing become. Will I get a hole in one every
time? that would make my total score 18.

Will i have to rake the sand when i leave the bunker?
of course, i should not even be there if I am perfect.
In that case I can skip the "mulligan", the "gimme" and
the "foot wedge" but never the 19th hole.

i can hardly wait

since i am still an active jw, or at least appearing to be, i still have my tubules in place and i am quite capable of assimilating a human.

the question is, should i?.

since i have to remain in this org.

i am amazed at the quality and depth of the comments you
are receiving, the WT is losing the very brightest, best, etc.
A real brain drain. I wish I could offer some sound advice but
the above quote seemed to hit home with me.

Actions speak louder than words and i see the "winds of change"
a blowin'. It might take a number of years, but with the ancient
GB, new GB members and the internet it is almost a given that there
will be changes. That does not mean taht the change would be
for the better, as in what we think is better. Things could change,
and often do, for the worse esp. in the "end stage" of a diesease.

I was a 25 year R&F follower but the end of my marriage nearly did me in.
A faithful, 3rd generation bros. said that there were a lot of dating
boards on the net and maybe I would find a compatible sister there.

I never would consider looking at apostate sites on the net but to
find my dream girl i felt it was OK. Wow, wow, wow and wow. I
found nearly 60 sites all dealing with "truth", not "the truth". Also
I went to e-bay and purchased some old WT books. Unbelievable.
So if you were to study, follow the advise in the 1985 WT, to rearch
out the older publications. ie; the change in baptism, and 1,000's
of other unexpaliable positions. Study hard, study long, search,
search and eventually you too will feel more grounded in the validity
of your beliefs and your family? you just never know but the TRUTH
involves risk, life is risk and the rest is sleep/death.

Reminds me of a story when American soldiers were forced to build
an airstrip for the Japenese in WWII. The Yanks were starved when
the refused to work. So they decided they would work their butts
off, but very inefficiently. They started to run from place to place,
even with full wheelbarrows and dig like crazy to meet the deadline
so the Japenese could attack the US Navy from this base. While one
crew dug a hole and moved on a, running wheelbarrow man would "trip"
and fall in the new dug hole filling it in and so on and so and so on.
They ate like kings and worked like crazy except they missed the deadline for
sure. A true and wonderful story , but I can't remember the author
or title.

My much delayed point being, work your buttt off man. Study the WT
stuff, it is a blast, extremely funny (sad really) and plant lots of seeds.
You can do much more on the inside. Remember the WT term of theo.
warfare and fight like crazy. Keep your eye on this site for the very
latest, and some very old, gems of wisdom. I keep a large stack of
old WT books on my desk, book bag. I love the picture of a blond,
and of course beardless, Jesus getting baptized. rotflmao. priceless.

very good thought and very clear explanation. I have often thought
somewhat the same, just not able to get my arms around expressing
it as you did.

I would do the "Hitler" argument just to see how the Bros. would judge him.
Death for sure, no question. I would tend agree, but who am I to say??
Maybe he had a brain tumor, obviously something was seriously wrong
and maybe, except for the grace of God, there goes the ol battboy.

watching the jw in service sat, i noticed how heavy their bookbags, or minisrty bags were, even the ones some children were carrying.

i said to myself how many books are needed for the simple mess.

it dealt with the wts as the faithful and discreet slave.

the reason why i take this part of the original thread to the main-forum is, that it brought back to my mind some questions, that i have never been able to answer.

My math says,

144,000 - 3,000 (in one day) = 141,000
141,000 - 30,000 (1935 joel) = 111,000
111,000 - 11,000 (depends) = 100,000
100,000 divided by 2000 (years*) = 50 per year over 2,000 years.

those peeps must have had "sum" super duper awesum organization
to hand me down all that truth over two milleniums. and without a
break. (give me a break please)
