So, where does that leave me? A worldly wife that a devoted JW got df'd for? It is hypocrisy to no end, I don't know how or why my hsband doesn't see that.

At this weekend's Toledo convention a young woman was interviewed. She had worked PT for a bank for years while finishing her acctg. degree and pioneering. She had prayed to Jehovah to allow her a position that would allow her to pioneer, and she was offered that position at the bank. She was so happy. Well, years later she finished her accounting degree and the bank loved her work so much they offered her a full time accounting position, complete with health benefits, time off, etc.
This same Bank that Jehovah had answeed her prayers with by giving her a position part time, was now the bad guy by wanting her to go full time! She said it was "Satan offering her the full time position!!!!" Unbelievable!!!!
How can people believe this????????????????????

glad this weekend is over, i can't believe people want to go to these things and enjoy them.
it was torture for me, but then i'm worldly.
My husband of just over 3 years is JW. We have baby and I didn't want to be away from her for the weekend.
I try to support him and not be judgemental about his beliefs, but it is hard now with a baby involved. The pregnancy was not lanned and things have now changed dramatically. My feelngs about the WTBTS have now taken on new meaning. It was different when it was just my husband going, as I raise my other children in my beliefs, which respect everyone and are vasty different from Witness beliefs. Now it is totally different, and I get sick to my stomach about it all, literally.

last night my wife said she was thinking about quitting the truth.she says she finds it too hard with me having doubts and not wanting to be a jw anymore.she has also been burned by her few jw friends,and the rest are either disfellowshipped or getting divorced.it's really hard to build lasting relationships with such people in the religion.. another positive factor is that she has made 2 good "worldly" friends over the past year.i think she's starting to see that people on the outside can be nice,have morals and accept others as they are.. i hope in time she starts feeling good about this decision and that i can slowly show her the many errors of the wts.so far she agrees with many of the things i've told her but still believes it's the truth.it's a hard battle but i never tought i'd hear her say those words.. btw,she finally called a local elder to see if he can help me with my many questions.he's coming over tonight so it should be quite interesting.i think he'll be a little surprised at some of the direct questions i have;i'm also hoping that after a while he decides there's not much hope for me and just labels me an apostate and starts talking about df'ing me.that would show my wife their attitude towards answering questions that have no scriptural answers.. anyways,i'll do my best to keep you all up-dated.it can be hard to post as my wife diesn't know i come here on a regular basis.. goldminer
I am also jealous..............hope to hear how your meeting went soon! Let us know. Also, I would like ot see your 32 questions, if you feel like posting them or pm them to me. Maybe I can start something with my husband, although I am not a witness, it would still help.

the debate with my husband over my step-daughter's df has begun, just barely.
he used a phase about me being "a thinking, reasoning person" and he doesn't understand why i don't "see" bible principles.
i said that phrase is an insult to me, and then it went sour.
He actually had written a letter of disassociation this Spring but I found it in the trash a month or so later. I know he has problems with it sometimes, because of how he was treated many years ago and about things kept from him about his own daughter. Even at her JC meeting he said to me he was unhappy with them making some sort of blanket stament about the situation and he told the elders they should know better? To me that sounds like he is tellng THEM how it should be, definitely not follow the leader mentality.

Yes, he was df'd for 2 1/2 years for leaving his wife, etc.
jw husband says that 18 is still a minor according to wt doctrine, so if he has to shun his daughter there are certain things he can still do.
is this true?
is there an age where if a child is df'd that certain "allowances" are made (like younger child or child living with you)?

She does not live with us, so he doesn't "have" to see her at all, if she is df'd soon.
