  A Quid in Australia was a pound note before decimal currency and is still used. " I'm just trying to make a Quid'. A shilling was 12 pennys and there were 20 shillings to a pound. 240 pennys to a pound.

  i havent gone to meetings in about 1 year and a half.

  one of my neighbors who is a jw-lady told me that the co on the last visit said that its very likely that right after armageddon (which is just around the corner) the present governing body members will be in charge of the united states since they are familiar with the culture.

  and that the apostles and early christians will be in charge of areas like china.

  Now thats competition because a Seventh day Adventist Dr Ben Carson is running for president of the United States this year I believe.

  I believe Ben Carson is a conservative and I wonder how a SDA --JW coalition would work.

  Many christian faiths have an EARTHLY resurrection belief.....

  i was surprised to learn many other mainstream christian religions believe in a physical earthly resurrection.

  even catholics.

  it seems the belief is that as of now one goes to heaven to wait, then in the future will have an earthly resurrection.

  The resurrection of the body is found both in the Apostles creed and the Nicean creed that are said by all in christian churches.

  Also most graves face east awaiting our Lords return in the hope of the resurrection.

  ANZAC DAY

  at early dawn on the 25th april 1915, french, british and dominion troops were delivered by small boats to storm the shores of the turkish peninsular with the objective of invading turkey and forcing that country out of the war and causing the end of the great war by many months.. the operation was a complete disaster.

  the troops were landed not on the expected flat beaches but up against cliffs.

  the turks were prior informed and the invading soldiers were shot to hell.

  Koala drumsticks marinated in any smokey type sauce and well done oven cooked my favourite.

  kangaroo is OK too but can have a gamey taste if the roo is too old

  Church of England Votes for Status Quo on Misogyny

  the vote to appoint women bishops has been defeated by the house of laity of the general synod.. so it will only be male bishops wearing silly frocks for at least another 3 years.. bbc news ........

  The Anglican church in Australia has female bishops and priests. My former church the SDA church is now having problems because some parts of the world will ordain female ministers but more conservative areas such as Africa will not. The general conference of SDAs is more conservative but individual conferences do ordain women and there has been some awkward moments in Australia when one women was ordained with two men and the general conference president officiated.   American Sniper - courage or cowardice?

  the movie american sniper is breaking box office records and of course there is some irony that a movie about a sniper is released on martin luther king day (who was shot by one).. but of course there is a world of difference between an assassin and a military sniper ... or is there?.

  some are making a big stink about it and claiming that "snipers are cowards".

  it seems unfair to me.
