shoot...it's not just the witnesses. i read today that 52% of americans think that the sun revolves around the earth and don't know how long 1 revolution takes.

Idiot Witnesses
by RichieRich inlast night, a brother gave a talk, and referenced the sun.
in his talk he said two very interesting things:.
"the largest star in the universe, the sun provides light to the farthest reaching corners of our galaxy.

Apostasy - A Racist Movement?
by slimboyfat infirpo carr argues that while many white apostates claim to highlight so-called 'racist' remarks and terminology in the watchtower literature, most such apostates are in fact white and have little real interest in black issues.
they are only interested in the issue in so far as they can use it to promote white anti-witness propaganda, whereas a high percentage of loyal witnesses are black.
i know that all the terms of my topic are debatable: apostacy is a witness term of derogation; apostates probably are mostly liberal and not racist (essentially); and they are not a 'movement' in any case.

But i think it is worth discussing anyway.
no, it's not
Apostates are predominantly white.
is that right?...i must've overlooked the latest figures. do you have a reference for this?
your post is so full of assumptions that it is essentially meaningless. obviously, you're trying to argue that x-jws grab for anything negative that they can use against the WT. if that is your argument, then argue that. why bring up this presuppositional racism BS? argue the actual pont you're trying to make and leave the fake statistics at the door.
oh, right...you've argued this point before. why don't you just go back and re-read that thread? it'll save everyone a lot of time and accomplish about as much

2 Timothy 3: 16 Is the Bible really inspired?
by Bryan intimothy stated that "all scripture is inspired by god and useful for teaching, ... .
" (klnt), but the bible was assembled much later than his writing.
so can each book which has been placed in the bible, without doubt, be inspired by god?

I don't buy the reasoning that places the authoring of many Biblical books much later.
there isn't really anything to buy. it's archaeology and textual analysis.
As for Matthew, the Gospel that was around when Paul was alive (it appears that two other Gospels were authored during his ministry by close aguaintances of his Luke, and Mark, and John clearly wrote his much later),
every indication points to Mark being the first gospel written (although there may have been fragmentary earlier documents) and even that wasn't around until long after Paul's writings. (BTW, i'm curious how you determine that 'John clearly wrote much later'. could you elaborate?) in any case, with a late writing of the gospels (including matthew), this makes perfect sense:
there is no indication that it was considered scripture by paul in any of his letters.

Pearl Jam is the same way. I went to one of their concerts back in the 90's and Vedder went on and on about abortion and a bunch of other garbage that no one wanted to hear.
eddie had a view things to say on the last tour too.
it didn't appear that no one wanted to hear though...and this is the heart of bush country .
sorry, not to hijack. pretty good pics. i'm surprised they turned out as well as they did.

if you have a car with a mechanical speedometer and odometer, not digital, and if you back up, will your mileage on the dial back up?.
7 miles on the odometer and you back up, for a few hundred feet, will the mileage also back up slowly to 47,108.6 and so on....?.

Will the WTS Org change or Die Out?

With all the WTS is facing will they change or die out? Ex/former members won't stop speaking out against the WTS, and potential members will be harder to gain. Are WTS leaders smart enough to realize they've got to do something?
yes, they'll keep changing their doctrines and adapting...just like every other religion. i don't think that the JWs will ever die out because statistically, no matter what crazy thing you can think of SOMEONE will believe it as the god's truth. my girlfriend told me that the other day on Oprah some lady wanted to get plastic surgery to make her nose look like Michael Jackson's. no matter what it is (MJ's nasal attractiveness or JW's 1914), someone will believe it. their numbers may continue to falter and that may cause them to relax some of their doctrines, but even if they don't, statistically there will always be true believers no matter what. -

muscle absorbs TONS of alcohol. the more muscle you have, the more you can drink without getting totally dirty drunk and without being hungover the next day. of course, your liver is still totally screwed. but who cares?...you're buzzed and all muscley. life is good.

so that's what my mom was talking about...
i emailed her yesterday for the first time in months. she sounded even more culty than usual. she said something about the "great new magazines" and also how many prophecies had been fulfilled lately. i guess this is what she meant. i can't wait for what they say when california finally cracks off.
