Sending Out a Letter to My JW Daughter - Give Me Your Thoughts Please
by flipper insome of you probably read my jw daughter's letter to mrs. flipper and me a few weeks ago where she tried explaining to mrs. flipper why she doesn't have anything to do with me ( says i talk negative towards the organization ) .
in that letter though she showed some flashes of her authentic, kind personality and told us she loves us.
but much of the letter was proselytizing to us about how bad the system is and how jeovah will bring a paradise, etc.

Mr. Flipper, I would ONLY talk j.w. stuff with her, IF she brings it up first. And even then, just ever so lightly, and in a pleasant tone. Also, if and when that does happen, don't get into a long debate with her, just a comment or two, then change the subject if you feel it is going in the wrong direction.
I like the way you are handling it. Keep doing it the Hassan way. Good luck, and glad you are making progress.

I almost fell over laughing when he used the phrase "AT HAND" . How many brochures thru the decades did they use that phrase? Can't they ever think of anything new to say? Ha, ha!
I knew sooner or later they'd try to set a date for the end and especially with the times as they are now, looks like this is it. Here we go again.....again.....again.

Brenda's second paragraph showed you the link you needed to click on. Maybe you tried too early. I tried earlier than when the show started, and nothing happened. I tried after 8 p.m. est, and got the program okay.
It's kind of a wierd station, so if you listen to it, hang in there for a few minutes. It gets really good. Brenda did an excellent job anti-witnessing. She was only supposed to be on for an hour of the two hour show, but after her hour was up, they asked her to stay on longer, and they gave her an extra half hour, giving her an hour and a half interview.
If you missed the live show, go to Brenda's web site in a week or two to find the taped broadcast of the show. Did anyone else on here listen to it?

Birthdays and my six year old
by Rocky_Girl ini am divorced from a jw and we have two children.
i have been out for 10 years but we both were raised 'in.
' we share custody so the little ones are a little confused as to why mommy gives them a b-day party, has a christmas tree and takes them to an hour of church mostly spent singing but daddy just drags them to 5 hours of lecture a week and won't let them be friends with the neighbor kids.. sunday night, after a week with his father, my six year old told me that he can't celebrate his b-day because a guy got his head cut off in the bible at a b-day party.

That's EXACTLY how I answer anyone that brings this up to me, too. I think it's the best answer to give.

edited to add: If your son asks you any other questions that you are not sure how to answer, don't answer right away and ask us first, and someone here will give you ideas on what to say. Then just tell your kid:"Remember the other day you asked me a question about.....?"

Dr's Were Talking About Giving Me a Transfusion - Hubby's Reaction and update on him...
by cognac inwell, when i was giving birth there were some complications.
the dr. came in and told hubby and i that they were probably going to want to give me a transfusion as i had lost so much blood.
i looked at my husband for his reaction.
