Hello Billyboy and welcome to the board. I would like nothing better than to just "walk away" from the cult I was born and raised in, but even though I disassosiated myself and am devoting my time to living my life as a good person - I have countless family and friends that still unquestionably accept everything the WT writes. Do you believe and live everything the WT says? If not, why not? Only by critically thinking about one's positions on various issues can you truly say they are your own. It is my most sincere hope that my family and friends can read an article like this one and publicly accept and reject what makes sense to them.

In paragraph 6 it quotes one of the "finest legal minds" to prop up their point, but then in the next breath will denounce "higher education" as worldly wisdom. Do these writers get ulcers having to swallow noxious diverse opinions?

Service Meeting Week Starting January 2, 2006

in every congregation, the convention insert should be considered on the service meeting as scheduled.
if there is a circuit assembly this week, book study overseers should announce the convention location and dates at their regularly scheduled book studies.

I don't understand the big news! can blondie or someone do an idiots guide?

i've rushed home from work anxious to hear it, read it and still don't understand the ramifications for the borg of this.
it could be because my head is spinning from work or i am just plain stupid....from what i've read the impact isn't going to have my family throwing down their watchtowers and realising they love me more, but hat was my own particular pie in the sky.. also how do we get it so that it comes up on google so that anyone wanting to know about jws and blood come to this news straight away.. dunce-crumpet.

My friends experience at elder school
by Grouper ina friend of mind went to elder school recently and i convoy the following for him: .
the co asked him previously if he could assist with a demonstration showing the superiority of wtbts education to university education.
my friend holds a few masters' degrees and will be starting a phd program soon so the co thought he would be an excellent candidate to demonstrate the superiority of wtbts education, but there was a little problem my friend he said no.

Are there any current elders on this board who could....
by mjarka911 ini was jut reading the silent lambs e-mail regarding the august 2005 w/t that subtly reinforces the position that child molestation crimes "may be reported" to authorities.
according to silent lambs, this is in line with a 2002 directive from the service dept to elders that said it is an individual decision, whether parents decide to alert the police or not and no congregation sanctions would be applied either way.
this is a policy that thumbs it's nose at mandatory reporting laws and puts children at risk.
