i was df'd about 2 months ago and decided to take this time to explore the teachings i have spent my life spewing to others.
well, it took very little time to discover it was a bunch of crap.
i have learned about the lies and inconsistant teachings and what not.
I started to have doubts about the WT when I bought a living bible. It was so easy and enjoyable to read, and you certainly get a different outlook of the NT.
I gave mine away and tried to buy another one but the book store said it was out of print. But if you can get one id recommend it
it's my fourth year anniversary.. from the bottom of my heart i want to thank each and everyone of you for helping me grow and learn over the past four years.
i especially want to thank simon and ang for their hard work and dedication.
i also want to give a shout out to all the mods both present and past.

when i stopped going to meetings i immediately found myself spending more time with my kids.
no sunday/monday evenings preparing talks.
no fri/sat preparing the wt.
My husband stepped down from being a MS, the pressure was too much, he was expected to do more than his fair share because he was very capable and didnt like letting ppl down. The problem was we ALL suffered as a family.
Stupidly it was I who wanted him to stay as a MS, he really had had enough about a year before he stood down. He said he was getting the feeling they were going to make him an Elder..............that was definitely not the way he wanted it.
I know feel we completely wasted my childrens childhood, with meetings FS and limited friendships, even though we did try to do fun things , there was always so little time.

sure, it's not exactly short, but it lays out specific reasons why i no longer believe the watchtower society is the, "one sole truth on earth" that i used to believe it was.
my wife no longer goes to any meetings either.

What I dont understand is how they think some fractions are OK, and some are not. Surely they must know as science improves our knowlege that this is a medical area and not a religious one

page 25 is the study article called "the first resurrection---now under way".
it's too boring to type all the stupidity written, but here's a brief synopsis of where they come up with the brainiac idea that the first resurrection occurred in 1918 onwards:.
"Will all the anointed receive their heavenly reward before the war of Armaggedon? We do not know...."
I thought this was interesting. The WT have always claimed that there would be some annointed on the earth when the BIG "A" or the tribulation started.
Thats why many JWs think it must come soon. But if they now are saying they might not be on the earth then they can keep armageddon at bay for years......decades even.
They slyly change things so most ordinary R&F dont even notice the change.
i have been out for so long now (da'ed in 1993) and i heard that jw's now have a "new" annoucement for disfellowshipping people.
no longer one of jw's.
but what about jw's that "repent" and want to stay as jw's what do the jw's elders say about them.
Ive never heard of an unbaptized person being DAed. The usual thing is to treat them as bad association, but theres no hard and fast rule about that even.
i was talking to this girl the other day about the movie the da vinci code.
i went and saw the movie and loved it.
i had heard for years and years that some people felt that jesus had and "affair" with mary magdeline and had kids with her.
If I remember correctly the WT explanation, is that Jehovah took away his protecting spirit from Jesus so that he would suffer as a "normal" man and then be able to die. Jesus knew Jehovah had taken away his protection and thats why he asked "Why have you forsaken me?"
i'll try to make this long story short.. in october ... about 3 days before i left for a trip my mother decided to have my cell phone cut off.
i've had my bill in my mom's name since i was 16 and have always paid it since i was old enough to work.
but .. out of pure spite, she cut off my phone.
I would plan the wedding that you want. Let her know how its going to be, tell her you really want her there but if she takes the decision to stay away then thats up to her.
Id point out that she may regret it if she doesnt come, and why does she need to tell ANYONE your getting married, its nobodys business. If she doesnt say anything , no one can comment on her going or not going.
She may be more afraid about what ppl will say, then it affecting her conscience
i remember when i was in the dubs, there were tons of sisters all with the same set of mild depression and fibromyalgia/chronic fatigue syndrom symptoms.
i wonder if this was related to the hell jws put you through or if it was just something one woman had to have because the other did.
i haven't heard of hardly anyone having it outside of the dubs but in the congregation about 75% of the women had it!
Yep............................My niece has just been told shes got ME.............................that was a 80`s illness where everyone seemed to have it now it fibromyalgia.
Now im not saying this illness doesnt exist, its just a convenient malady to miss meetings and FS without peeeps thinking you are spiritually weak
Its a terrible thing that ppl either present these symptoms to their doctors and it meets with the criteria....exhaustion for one..............Or peeps need a medical excuse to not going to meetings
