So they finally remodeled the place? I haven't been there since 1996-97. The remodel must have cost more than the original construction price in the '70's.
I can't believe they took out that beautiful fireplace. At least now it looks like a glass wall in the foyer that you can actually see outside now.

There was/still is a nut case in the KH I once attended who said that eating turkey on thanksgiving is taking part in demonism. What a jerk!
Even when we were good JDubs, my late wife or JW mother-in-law would make turkey even though technically we weren't celebrating Thanksgiving. And the whole JW family would come over. Fifteen people altogether. After dinner, my JW father-in-law would break out the moonshine. We already started on the beer before dinner. LOL Great memories of my past even though I was a JW who didn't know any better.

Just tell your husband that IT IS NOT his place to turn in YOUr time. You are responsible for turning in your own time.

50 years ago, people with TB (tuberculosis) were quarantined. I know because my cousins husband was confined to a hospital clinic in Nebraska for one year until they determined him free of TB.
Today, people may look at HIV differently but in some cases it becomes full blown AIDS. I watched a pretty young 30 something girl in my community die from AIDS that she contracted from a dirty needle. A needles loss!
The powers that be have more knowledge about these things. Or at least they should have! But this is just my opinion........enough problems have happened in the U.S. by allowing the free entrance of foreigners with problems.
I vote to NOT let anyone tested HIV positive or any other contagious disease into the country.
On the other hand.....if it were someone dear to me, I'd probably feel quite differently. No matter which way I think, there is always a reasonable alternative to how others may think and feel.
I think I'm getting mellow as I age!

i finally saw that november 15th wt article on prayer that everyone has been talking about - the people in the photos look as stiff as corpses!.
people will be called in the back room for inadvertantly making contact with their spouse during prayer.. i think i will adopt the following stance during prayer now:.

I've always loved Chet Atkins guitar playing.
Back in the early 1980's, we (my late wife and daughter) became friends with a family in Moundsville, WV through my contacts on ham radio. The brother played guitar just like Chet. He was fantastic!
