restrangled.. how about you?.
Been here since 2004. It sure is nice to see some of the old timers from my sign on and before, answering this topic. At least we know they still lurk monitor the forum to see what is going on in the borg. Almost everyone has contributed something positive for the rest of us.

i have read a few threads that speak of lurking spies for the jw that watch this website.
is this true?
i really don't have a problem with that, but to me it appears entirely sacreligious from what they preach.
I don't believe it!
I actually agree with Reniaa.
There most likely are active JW's perusing this site. Over the years, hundreds have registered and there are probably thousands who are not registered reading what they can.

128th class.
starts this fall.
so the celebratory and going-away gatherings have started.
we should serve and it was never meant to be less than a full personal commitment.
So Renaia........what are you doing? Why aren't you doing anything close to your comment?

the news media seems to be reluctant in bringing up the fact of michael jackson's involvement with jehovah's witnesses.
the public deserves to know the adverse influence the witness belief system imposes on people.
the watchtower organization seemed to instill much fear into michael jackson as you can read in the following e-mail being sent to news agencies.
Get over it already! He WAS a JW at one time in his life. Like him......everyone who can should just disconnect from their past and start enjoying life.
Some can't because of family. I understand that! For those who can.....JUST get a life without thinking you have been chosen to expose everything about the JW's.
You can't even make a nick in the JW infrastructure. There's more happiness in having a good life without everyday of YOUR life trying to expose what you think might be a tidbit of scandal or discretion.
Get happy dude!

a couple of topics recently have made me think.
first, there was snowbird's "i think i am getting old" and the news that farrah fawcett has died at the relatively young age of 62.. also, the economic down turn has started older people wondering if retirement as we used to know it will be a thing of the past.
i am 56 years old but somehow never see myself retiring in the traditional sense of the word.. i am beginning to think that we are beginning to the time when older people will become more and more ambitious.
People ask me if I'm enjoying my retirement. I tell them that I am on pension but not retired. There is always plenty to do and one of these days I just might take on another part time job.

still "unconfirmed", but what the hell is going on?.
http://search.twitter.com/search?q=jeff+goldblum.
Jeff Goldblum was my family Doctors son. Jeff was a year or two behind me in high school here in Western PA.
His dad was a great Dr. and treated all my family and did my blood test when getting married.

has anyone who has attended a district convention this year seen any protestors or demonstrators?.
have you ever protested or demonstrated or maybe even handed out literature at a convention or assembly?
what happened?
designs,
For someone who just signed on in the past week, you sure have a lot to say. Why....you haven't even introduced yourself and told us anything. All you have done is bitch and moan.
Do you live under a bridge? (I didn't call you a troll)

this week marks the news of two "young" brothers i know being accepted to brooklyn bethel.. this pattern continues to demonstrate the current "human resources" policy of the current gb.
while telling those that have spent the best years of their life, "we need you in the field", they continue to bring in the healthy, unsuspecting young brothers so they can be used up with nothing to show for it late in life.. at last year's d.c. there was an interview with a brother that had been "sent back to the field" some 4 months prior to the convention.
what was so sad, is that the brother was clearly alone, and perhaps scared, in his new assignment in a remote rural area with a congregation of 40. he had been accepted to bethel after high school, never pioneered, and had been at bethel for 30 years!
We can only hope that some of those who have..... and will be kicked out after spending the best years of their lives........will find their way here on JWN.
There has to be some very angry ex bethelites who are now trying to eke out a subsistance living.
Let's just hope their eyes are opened and can see how they have been duped.
