i was looking for something else and came across this old radio information pertaining to jws.
wpow - 1330 am, new york
jehovah's witnesses was one of the first religious organizations to enter the broadcasting field.. in 1923, the international bible students' association (as it was then called - the name 'jehovah's witnesses' waa adopted in 1931) bought the equipment of radio station wdt (see page 1) at stapleton, staten island, which the ship owners radio service was shutting down.. .

2013 was a record breaking year for firearm purchases.
2014 is supposed to be a record breaker for ammunition.. do you own a firearm?
but i support that right for others---if they are qualified..
I used to have a deer rifle and a shotgun but sold them since I do not hunt anymore. I hunted from the time I was 12 or 13 with my Dad and continued even as a JW. Now I have handguns for personal protection and a legal concealed carry permit. I've been trained on their proper use! I'm also an NRA member and proud of it. If anyone kicks my door down and gains access while I'm home, they will most likely be carried out in a body bag.
Thank you Governor Corbet for signing the Castle Law.

i often see comments by ex-jws that would suggest some men still view themselves as "head of the house".
sometimes comments from women appear to support the idea as well.. how many still see things this way or have you completely got over it?.
Years ago in my old KH, a senior brother answered a question and mentioned about the husband being the head of the house. Before he was even finished, his wife's hand was up and the bro on the platform called on her. He comment was....."The husband might be the head but the wife is the neck and she can turn that head anyway she wants." Everyone had a good laugh and enjoyed that comment. Sorry that they are now gone, but they were really good and down to earth people.

i've been here forever.... this site still gives us some of the most up to date info about jws .
it keeps evolving.
sometimes it is the place to be and i think that's especially true for newbies.
It will be 10 years in May that I have been on this site. I don't post like I used to buy coming and reading everyday keeps me informed. The religion has changed so much since I left 13 years ago. Regardless...it is still a cult.

have i ever told ya'll about my grande ma ma?
my daddy's mother?
i can't recall.
Memories are wonderful. Never let them go. I love that song too. "Hold me, thrill me, never let me go" sung by Mel Carter.
Peace to you FHN.

many other so called ice cream at grocery stores as well.
have you noticed how it seems to be different than from a couple years ago?
that it doesn't melt, it just warms up and becomes like a whipped cream texture?
From the very first time I ever had Breyers I never liked it. That was many many years ago and it just didn't taste right. Goes to show how far we've come from from natural to fake and chemecal products and they are still allowed to advertise as if it was real.
need to put it in writing.
i think of it every day.
i know so many of us have gone through this, but it sure hurts.
Whoa........I love the response Simon gave. It hit the nail on the head. Good go Simon.

Ohhhhh.......and by the way.......I have lost 40 pounds since August and still have a way to go to reach my goal with a great diet that I never go hungry with and go to the local YMCA 4 to 5 days a week to use the treadmills and recumbent bikes and a few cable weight machines. I am feeling great at 66 years of age. Oh oh.....YMCA....I might get DF'd. lol Who gives a f--k? Life is good!

No resolutions from me. I just want to keep living the best life I can with all of my "worldly" friends and free of the WTBTS. Life is good!

this was just said to me by a friend who was disfellowshipped just over 2 years ago.
she just had a miscarriage, and her partner dumped her rather than supported her through this process.
she told her jw parents, and they refuse to even call her or offer her any emotional support.
I learned from experience that any Christian non denoninational church will give you more support the all the KH's I've eve been to. I love the church that I go to for the past 7 years. There is genuine love and concern there without judgement for whatever is going on in your life. They follow what the Bible says.....not what Brooklyn says. So........my suggestion is to join a tradional type local church just as NAVYTOWN said.
