anyone remember what the 3 "secret sins" were, that the gb counselled us on in the late 80's & early 90's.
we were admonished to turn ourselves in if we were guilty so "da elders" could help us deal with them.
anyone remember?

Hi all,
Anyone remember what the 3 "secret sins" were, that the GB counselled us on in the late 80's & early 90's. We were admonished to turn ourselves in if we were guilty so "Da Elders" could help us deal with them. Anyone remember? Those Bastards
this morning as i was trimming my beard, i was thinking about when i was a drone and the times that iws counseled about my 5:00 shadow at the meetings, and i rembered a time when my dad was told to go and trim his sideburns b 4 he could go on stage at an assembly.. at one time it promted a friend of mine and i to write a letter to the society, since they could change thier minds on doctrinal issues as the light gets brighter we thought maybe we could get them to change thier minds on this issue, (yeah right).
a few months later he recived a letter from the society the essence of it was like this : it would not be inapproiate for a brother to wear a nice trim beard but the elders in the local area would have to detirmin if it would be acceptable for the brother to be used in the cong.
and go door to door, as some areas might be more open to it than others.
Hi Zev
I just did the same thing. It feels good!
is anyone familiar with the gilead instructors:.
liverance, bowen, noumair, and karl adams.
Isn't Mr. humble Paul Illingworth a Gilead Instructor? I know he's in Patterson.
i was laying in bed last night thinking how lucky i am that i havent had to undergo the mental torture of attending the district convention.
then i started reminiscing about the old days and i suddenly remembered those ridiculous tickets you had to buy to pay for food.
they were those brown cheap cardboard type efforts with i think 10 tickets per sheet.
Isn't it interesting how the GB arbitrarily decided to do away with those flimsy food tickets after guilting us for years to eat the shit food at those lame assemblies. My kids stood in line many years to get my wife and I a bag of the soggy crap.
Remember how they guilted us, and put us under compulsion to buy those damn things. Now you have to fend for yourself when you go to those useless assemblies. Now its "Bring your own food bruv vers, do not to go eat at Saintins wordly food establishments. Stay inside and enjoy the wonderful spiritual association." What a waste of time!

Hey All
Don't forget the trumpeteer Chuck Winfield, of Blood Sweat & Tears, still an elder to this day in the August Maine Congregation
were you ashamed of being a witness?.
how did you feel about identifing yourself as a jehovahs witness to others?.
i often used to hide it because of the stigma attacthed to it.. was anyone actually proud to be one?
I was never ashamed, as I wholeheartedly believed it was the best thing anyone in their right mind could be part of. My how things change!
oh man....check this out.. my brother, an active jw, whom i am very close too, called me sometime last year to tell me about the un issue.
i never cared to talk about religion .... most of my family is in and i'm not.
so i boringly reply,'oh yeah'..not really listening.
Wow
