Hi Mulan
that really is a surprising outcome.
How much differant the outcome would have been if the CO was a typical society man. Wonder how long he will last? Unless of course the borg is softening.

my jw buddy just called me with some "fun" news.
they had the co last week, and of course dave and i were part of the elder's meeting agenda.
my friend has just had a conversation with one of the elders, who told her about it because it involved her.

did anyone else see this show last night?
it was on the more obscure bbc4 (available in the uk on satellite or cable).. http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcfour/listings/programme.shtml?day=yesterday&filename=20031029/20031029_2200_4544_28579_40.
the programme looked at recent media preoccupation with the end of the world (asteroid collisions, global warming, etc.).
Yes I did video it. Not sure how (legally/actually) I can do copies to a CD.
I have emailed the BBC to ask for any more info on the Esther Rantzen prog highlighted at the start of documentary but havent had any reply yet.

i was once on strike for about a year.
and nearly involved in this battle ................. http://www.eventplan.co.uk/orgreave_account.htm.
what's the longest you have been on strike?
Hi qwerty
scary times those, it seems such a long time ago.
We werent involved in the miners strikes personally but I remember a box being put at the back of the KH for those JW families affected. Not sure how it reached them.
My sons (pending) FIL was aminer during that period though and the family went through some very tough times with 2 young children and a mortgage. He doesnt speak about it much.
Other half did strike YEARS ago as part of some Civil Service dispute. I cant remember all the details although he did go on picket duty. Nothing like your experience though

you know... last year i chickened out... but i'm thinkin there's these two trees in front of my old hall... and they look just like xmas trees... god, wouldn't it be funny if...?
if we had a mass movement and bunch of apostates went to as many kh in their cities and threw some decorations up?
i wonder if the dubs would think it's the end of the world!
Hi all
not to put too big a dampener on this. Yes I think it is funny BUT
in the UK at least I think it could be construed as inciting religious hatred, which is a big NO NO after 9/11, and lead to police involvement. Be careful.

what was the first computer you ever owned?
for me it was the trs-80 model 1. i bought it for $10 at a second hand store when i was 10 years old.
took me forever to find info on the thing, an manual, and a patchcord to hook up a cassette deck.
We can laugh at them now but at the time they were good.
ZX80
ZX81
DRAGON 32
APPLE SOMETHING
Can't remember all the differant specs after that. All IBM compatibles.

cas..feeling a little sorry for himself today.. feel free to offer any support or advice.
Hi Caspian
sorry to hear you are going through yet another trauma.
I hope you can begin to build a new life once the formalities are sorted.
Can you make plans for something nice in the near future such a few days off or a holiday and make it totally differant to what you would have done in the past.
Sorry if such thoughts are insensitive.
((((((Take care))))))

i was looking on the thread on music when i just thought to ask that question.
for me, it was gwar's violence has arrived.
i remember loving that band so much when i first heard of them to the point where i downloaded everything they had, from album mp3's to rare bootlegs.
Same as Mulan but I think I started the year before.
Went to an out of town shopping centre though as I was less likely to meet any dubs. Silly or what.
