Were There/Are There A Number Of Gays At Bethel?
by minimus ini remember the "boy's club" mentality from many of the bethelites in the 70's and 80's.
it seemed there were a number of males who were "effeminate" back in the day.. i knew of one guy that was told by the bethel brass that he would "go places" at headquarters if he could learn to deepen his voice and tone down his gestures a bit (and he was told it wouldn't hurt if he ever married a fellow bethelite sister).
this man was extensively used at conventions, became less "gay looking" and got married.. so my question is, did you see effeminate men in bethel?

Is this just an Incredible Coincidence?!.....Amazing!
by journey-on inhttp://www.foxnews.com/us/2011/04/26/long-lost-half-brothers-reunited-6000-miles-home/.
thousands of miles away from home, two long-lost half brothers from massachusetts were reunited in a chance encounter on a hawaiian beach, myfoxboston.com reported monday.. rick hill from massachusetts, his wife and their kids were on the beach in waikiki when a man offered to snap their picture.. "he said 'say leominster', that's where he's from.
so we smiled and said 'wow, what made you say that?

Never had the Bethel experince. I knew a brother who was un-appologetically gay. He also was a MS and handled many large portions of the meeting. I never gave much thought as to his being used. I just took that he was gay, it was what it was, I'm not a practicing homosexual, so what more do I need to do? type thing. There were others, however who would all flock together. They would get together and study for the Watchtower as a group. I sat in on one of thier study sessions. Aside from their all being gay, they did not present to me any reason to raise the red fag?

this is a question that i have struggled with, not just as a jehovahs witness but as a believer in god.

Time, chance and circumstance. I can't blame Jehovah for the 3000 who lost thier lives on 911. Nor for the thousands who just lost thier lives in the Japan, China, Haiti earthquakes. Nor for the ones who will tragically lose their lives tonight in Afghanitan, or traffic accidents that will occur hours from now, or the deaths of those who just breathed their last hours ago.
God views all life as sacred, but He at this moment has a hands off policy for most of us, as we meander out here in the wilderness. We, many will die as man always has, but there exist a future where we will all be resurrected to truly face our maker. We will have that wonderful opportunity to experience life as God originally intended for us.
If you go about wondering as to The Creators love for mankind, as it pertains to his hands being personally involved in the life of every single solitary person on earth, you will run yourself ragged as he would need to step in to save, each and every person about to experience loss, pain, death or tragedy. It's mostly life. ( Job 14:1)
Satan's world will be allowed to run it's course with God having the last word. We puny humans can't see the proverbial forrest for the bloody trees. God can't be called in as if he were some kinda' Superman in order to save us from the ways of the world or ourselves. He can and does choose to turn our lives according to his purpose, however and those who endeavor to cultivate a relationship with him will experience his care and concern in varying degrees. He's no "I Dream of Jeanie" type God. It's hard down here on Earth, yes. But once we get beyond the suffering in this material world, when we either survive this systems end or are resurrected to the "World Tomorrow" we will come to understand why God allowed many of us to suffer. Like waking up from a bad dream.
And I believe God will be more than just when it comes to dealing with resurrected mankind. He will take all of our individual situations into account. We believe we're on the fast track regarding knowledge and technology. We have yet, however to even scratch the surface. Hang in There Baby!!!

When did the WT say that homosexual extramarital affairs were not grounds for divorce?
by doubtful ini've heard it said that the watchtower printed an official stance on what qualifies as "adultery" at one point in the 1970s??
they said that a woman was not free to divorce her husband if her husband had sex with another man or with an animal, as such sexual relations did not constitute "becoming one flesh"... apparently vaginal intercourse is the only means of fusing two human bodies together.... what watchtower is such a doctrine found in?
is it in the wt cd-rom?

POSITIVE POST TIME!! We just want to know 3 things you are FOR.
by Terry inon this topic we don't care what you are against.. let's be positive and tell three things we are for which are meaningful to us.. .

1.Loving care and concern for the elderly. Especially our parents. They didn't have all the answers and did the best they could with what they had.
2.Respect for all forms of life. When I see the humane society for animals commercial on TV, I cry every single time, no matter how many times I see it. Animals are here for us to responsibly care for. Anyone who allows them to subjected to the cruelty of abuses like dog fighting and other unspeakable horrors should given a mandatory sentence of 5 years in prison. No parole. No time off for good behavior.
Fathers in the homes. The missing element in the family structure, the father needs to be addressed in society. One MIA father can destroy an entire natiion. Families could save so many of our children, if we only took our positioning as parents more seriously. So many of the pregnancies on the planet were not planned and the children come to be viewed as a problem. Un-loved un-wanted and left to there own destructive devices.
Sorry Terry if I included the bad with the good, but good can not come about without exposing where that good can come from.

crisis of conscience
by inbetween inwhen i was fully in, i never even heard of ray franz or his books.. after learning the truth about the truth, what woke me up, was in the first place the inconsistency of doctrine, the missing logic and the bending of the scripture to fit their theology.. personal experiences i took with a grain of salt.
therefore, even though i learned about "crisis of conscience" i did not bother reading it.
personally i did not doubt, that what he wrote would be true, but i thought, it would not help somebody to get out, because, its his personal experience, which proves nothing in the end.

I try to re-read it on occasion as I need reminding from time to time. With the great amount of doctrine we've been fed, it takes me paying more than the usual attention to stay focused on where I've been during this journey. Like getting an oil change every 3000 metephorical miles.
