(according to james5:14-16) is anyone among you sick?

In light of the above scripture, is confession something that should be shared amongst our bretheren in general, or as could be defined within the context of scripture, to the elders alone?

Though not having properly established boundaries within the organization, I now see, in that life as well as without of the Hall, the wisdom in having a means of protecting oneself from the harm that can come from gossip, libel and slander, from those who either do not have your best interest at heart, or who are in no position to have such shared information of your life's history, as they could not handle the information properly. Giving over confidential information of ones self, often has a way of coming back to bite you.

Is it best to just keep certain information between you and God alone, or can there be a middle ground with which to confess your sins to your brothers and sisters in general?

Should confession, according to the above scripture, be reserved for the elders in the congrgation exclusively?

For now he is: I have to agree. Let's hope to high heavens his brother doesn't aspire to the presidency.

I think after four years of Boy George at the wheel, the Dems will have groomed a sucessful candidate for the presidency. The turmoil that's going to occur in the the next four years will demand it.
The changes that will have occured at the hands of GWB43 will be for the good, but there will only be so much the world will be able to withstand. It's just not the Dems chance at this time, but 2008, looks really great!!!

Do you think of yourself as an apostate

many of the people on this site say that they are apostates.

but that is not the way i feel about myself.. i am not angry with the "witnesses" or the organisation, i don't feel that i wasted my life.

i just think that i was stupid to believe it for 30 years (well sort of believe it, i did have severe doubts on and off).

I would be classified by their terminology as an apostate as well, however, after coming to the realization of the history regarding the WTBTS, I consider myself as having been guilible, mislead and uninformed, taking all that the Society had to say at face value.

It now becomes my responsibility to take a more conscientious look at any and all religious institutions, as I have invested years of pain and an unwholsome dread of God in this one.

I can't imagine myself having made any proper decsions in life while underneath the dreaded cloud of doom the Society instills in its adhereants. Every thought, deed and action, was only made out of guilt or fear, the good, bad and everything in between.

Within and without of the truth. I have been truly rescued from a religious system that breeds guilt fear and suspicion within virtually every breath of ones existence, be you a witness or be you not.
