Again, this has to do with secular injustice and not the WTBTS. The question should be, what are we going to do about judges who hand down such light sentences.

Sweetpea, this IMO has nothing to do with the WTBTS. It is about injustice in the secular word. Not that there isn't injustice in the WTBTS but let's focus on the real issue here and not let our anger toward the organization cloud the facts.
given the often devastating consequences of disassociation and disfellowshipping isn't it fair that those studying with the jws should be explicitly warned about these precedures in advance so that they know where they walking into?

I was so sure that the WTBTS was truly the Christian congregation that I truly believed that they would not do anything unfair or contrary to God's love. It took a few years but one day I woke up and saw that their number one concern was the authority of the organization over all aspects of one's life including what you think. What is right and what is wrong is secondary to their exercise of authority.

The problem with this law (and my state has it) is that not all of the affected sex offenders are guilty of the same type of offense. A child rapist is one thing (No mercy) but a sex offender can be a eighteen year old having sex with his fifteen year old girl friend. It this type of nonsense that many are protesting,
knowing that this silencing of victims is one of the wts's main weapons of defence, why did the victims agree to remain silent?

By settling the plaintiffs at least got something. If this matter had gone to court it could have drug out for a longtime and think about the turmoil they avoided by not being subjected to the appeal process.
