  JWs can celebrate the new moon..............the bible says so.

  i spent an evening in a hotel last week and while waiting for dh to get ready, i found a gidion bible in the draw, so started flicking through it.

  i was reading colossians, when i came across a scripture i hadnt noticed before.

  in chapter 2 v 16. it really stunned me.

  But then again, they are not under an obligation to ignore celebrating it. Sounds like a matter of choice to me.

  the elders now have the right to be involved in every facet of a witnesses' life!

  they want your phone numbers, cell numbers, they are to be inquired of if you want to take a sh*t. these "good" men will turn into power hungry masters, if they are not already.

  It boils down to not trusting ANYONE among the JWs, because they all have the potential to throw you to the Elders™ wolves if they need to in order to save their own @$$es.

  Never a truer statement spoken (or written). No JW I know truly trusts the elders or even fellow JWs with too much personal information. I used to trust them but found that honesty and openness on my part always resulted in negative action toward me by the Shepherds. They are there to enforce WTS dogma and not to help the sheep.

  rant about gas prices AGAIN

  so here it is, the end of the month.

  i got to get my kids this month since they're on summer vacation.. it took over 80 bux of gas to go 100 miles both ways two times,( picked kids up one weekend.. took them back so they could go to the stupid convention then picked them back up after, my ex refuses to meet me half way, i'm bad association ya know) i went almost a year without a way to get up to them.

  neither my ex or my family would bring them to me.

  I am not an apologist for the oil industry but feel compelled to point out that high oil prices (including gasoline prices) are not the result of oil company’s greed. Greed might be true if oil was an infinite resource but it isn’t. The economic laws of supply and demand are driving oil prices ever higher. The world’s ability to provide petroleum has pretty well reached its peak and will soon go into a decline with production dwindling as time passes. The other side of the supply and demand equation is that demand is ever increasing, especially with China and India striving to become more industrialized.

  According to the book Life After the Oil Crash by Matthew David Savinar, “An 8% yearly decline would cut global oil production by a whopping 50% in under nine years. If a 5% cut in production caused prices to triple in the 1970s, what do you think a 50% cut is going to do?”

  If the projected shortfall of oil production only affected gasoline prices that would be bad enough for us but the impact will be much greater. Consider some more thoughts from Matthew Savinar’s book: The size of this ratio stems from the fact that every step of modern food production is fossil fuel and petrochemical powered:

  1.Pesticides are made from oil;

  2.Commercial fertilizers are made from ammonia, which is made from natural gas, which will peak about 10 years after oil peaks;

  3.With the exception of a few experimental prototypes, all farming implements such as tractors and trailers are constructed and powered using oil;

  4.Food storage systems such as refrigerators are manufactured in oil-powered plants, distributed across oil-powered transportation networks and usually run on

  electricity, which most often comes from natural gas or coal;

  5.In the US, the average piece of food is transported almost 1,500 miles before it gets to your plate. In Canada, the average piece of food is transported 5,000 miles from where it is produced to where it is consumed.

  It’s not just transportation and agriculture that are entirely dependent on abundant, cheap oil. Modern medicine, water distribution, and national defense are each entirely powered by oil and petroleum derived chemicals.

  In addition to transportation, food, water, and modern medicine, mass quantities of oil are required for all plastics, all computers and all high-tech devices.

  What all of this means, in short, is that the aftermath of Peak Oil will extend far beyond how much you will pay for gas. If you are focusing solely on the price at the pump, more fuel-efficient forms of transportation, or alternative sources of energy, you aren’t seeing the bigger picture.

  BUSH MAKES ME SICK

  i just called my bank to change my debit card to an atm card.

  not wanting my account cleaned out in case the debit gets lost or stolen.

  i was on the phone 40 minutes they wanted my passport no, my green card no, wanted to know where i conduct my business, what date i opened up the account.

  When did the WTS make it a rule that you have to give your cell phone number to the elders? I find it hard to believe that they feel entitled to it….just doubting.

  thirdwitness, let us say for purpose of reasoning that there is a "faithful and discreet slave class" that provides all other Christians with the needed spiritual food. Is this the reality of how JWs receive their direction? If you believe this then please explain how the approximately 8,000 members of the FDS class do this. Is there a special web site where the FDS logs onto to coordinate their efforts? The truth is that the GB (less than 20 individuals) makes all of the WTS' doctrines. Now I suppose you will say that the GB represents the 8,000 FDS class (since this is what they claim). If this claim is true then they are "self-appointed representatives since the class number of 8,000 has no input into who is a member of the GB.

  Even so, I believe their doctrine of God using the worlds governments to destroy all religion is correct

  Flash I also believe that to be the case. Islamic leaders have openly stated that their objective is to regain control of all the lands that used to fall under their domain. This includes many European nations including Spain. There is a growing sentiment among many Americans that the religion of Islam should be banned in America. This type of thinking could lead to such religious tensions that ALL religion could be banned.

  Man Not Woman Created In God's Image

  a few days ago i read a post the listed wt references that stated man was created in god's imge but woman wassn't.

  of course i don't agree with this and neither does my wife.

  i am unable to find the post and i need the references to convince my wife of this sexist wt teaching.

  After sharing the information received in answer to my question, my wife asked, "WHAT ABOUT SINGLE WOMEN?". Since a single woman doesn't have a husband to be her head it seems to me that her question makes a point. What do ya'll think?
