My wife "Rowan" needs of your support too.
by Gerard inmy wife 'rowan' was born and raised a jw, her father being an elder -a very gentle loving person, but an elder.. some years ago, she was betrayed by a close friend, subjected to a jc and was disfellowshiped & shunned.
the proceeding was completely void of mercy and love, it was much like a violation, a rape.
finding herself df'd was of course terrifying, but the most disapointing outcome was that her father sided with the elders.. eventually she discovered through select books, articles and this board about the fear-driven mind control ways of her religion.

For you "sisters" who married in the "Truth"...
by Frequent_Fader_Miles injust a poll question.
at the first convention/ assembly following your wedding ... did you parade around the convention site gloating in other sisters' faces, showing off your new husband?
i've never done it, but i can't help but suspect that others do.

Disfellowshipping
by larc ini have read many stories here about those who have been disfellowshiped.
they express the pain of the experience, and the emotional trauma they experience.
i have to ask a question.

Another fly enters the spider's web
by Quotes ini received the following email to my quotes address, which was apparently prompted by a page at my website (http://quotes.jehovahswitnesses.com/bible_errors.htm): i am ot sure i understand.
it was stated that the bible has all kinds of mastakes in it because it was wrote by humion hands.
then i feel i am wasting my time studing it with your people because they tell me the bible is wright and how would i know what it right in it or wrong so i will stop my studt tommrow when they come.

by minimus inwhen you were associated in the congregation, were you treated in a way that made you feel like you were a 2nd class citizen?
how were you regarded?

Trips to the lake - and the Bathroom
by The_Bad_Seed inafter a short lived camping trip to dirty lake erie with mon cheri, complete with odd looking bugs, rednecks in banana-slings*, tobacco picking immigrants and several varieties of undercooked meat, i have found myself considering a permanent move to the bathroom.
yes folks, i have found myself with a bad case of the skitters.
i missed the jwc stuff that dreams are made of, and i am back, with an upset, angry, and burning undercarriage.

We shall NOT watch how we walk
by mikepence inmy family will not be attending the march.
i respect bill and what he has accomplished, but i believe that attempts to control the march and the marchers, are misplaced -- even damaging for victims of abuse -- who have been controlled enough!.
the last thing victims of abuse need is to be told to keep up appearances.

Jw.com has it helped you?
by haujobbz in.
since i have been posting on this site i found a lot of posts interesting and vice versa, but i have also noticed that cetain ones on here arent helping themselves by continually looking at faults in their former beliefs,i find that this cant help you as a victim, im not saying i am not guilty of doing this i did do it at first but then realised it wasnt helping me overcome the trauma of my former beliefs, surely by trying to focus on the future and on how you can improve your state of mind maybe by self help books, counselling, and maybe speaking to ones on here who can possibly help you get through what they have been through, i mean surely you want to break free from the chains you used to be in.. dont get me wrong im not being harsh but only trying to help others,i mean jw.com is an open discussion forum to a degree,i also find it enjoyable on here, sometimes its not enjoyable because certain individuals are quite negative about views they dont agree on and i do expect that.. so has jw.com helped you or hasnt it.. are you addicted to this site and cant live without it.. also i do tend to take my previous beliefs lightly and have a joke about the things that were taught and went on,i try not to take it to serious at least im free from it and have my own mind that makes me so happy.
