  How did you feel when you learned it was all a lie?

  bit of background.

  i grew up as a jw i left the church when i was 14 because a ministerial servant who was conducting a one on one baptism study with me said that i couldn't ballance my dreams of being a professional singer with the so called "truth".

  i stopped the study and told my mom i no longer wanted to be a witness.

  here is a plan to throw the entire organization into chaos.

  many of the 'apostates' here believe in the ransom of jesus - and the command to partake of the 'communion' of the lords evening meal, right?

  i have come to accept that that 'memorial' is simply a recognition of jesus' sacrifice.

  who would want to drink that CHEAP WINE ?...screw top bottle stuff

  Actually, there are quite a few vintners that are crossing over to screw tops. The reason is because of a chemical contaminant called trichloroanisole(TCA). This is where the term "corked wine" comes from. The wine gives off a moldy or musty odor.

  So before you thumb your nose at a fine bottle of wine simply because it has a screw top, remember that the winemaker is simply looking out for YOU for your own enjoyment. Many still want to stick to the old ways of carving off the foil, twisting the screw and hoping that the cork comes out in one easy stroke. It has always been a routine and probably will continue to be, regardless of cork taint. Besides, most high dollar restaurants would lose the "corkage" fees of anywhere from $10-20 a bottle.

  I'm not sure what jobs require a GROL either. But there are a few industries that would like to see a prospective employee carry one. I have seen a few job postings in the past where one of the requisites was a GROL. Usually a GROL can take the place of an EE degree with employers. If you know the stuff on the GROL test, then you must have been trained somewhere, either in college or the military.

  well, i have confirmed rumors that have gone around about there being no annual service report for the january 1st, 2005 issue.. .

  it seems, for reasons unknown, that the watchtower has ended another decades long tradition.

  in the second study article for the january 1st, 2005 watchtower, entitled, "trained to give a thorough witness," paragraph 24 reads: .

  Let's not forget the possible hit they took with the UN NGO membership withdrawal. That alone closed many figurative doors into a handful of countries. NGO membership could be likened to diplomatic immunity in some cases, thereby giving them the leeway to distribute the literature in tougher nations.

  "We don't go by pre-Christian times. We follow Christian directives. God allowed a man to have more than one wife for a time but that is not allowable for Christians."

  It is also hypocritical of most elders to pull the old, "The principle found in Leviticus says....so we must follow it" routine. In one case they say we should only follow what Jesus laid down as the law, but on the other hand, they use the "all scripture is inspired by god" rule and refer back to the OT and drag up those damn "principles." Blood is one that comes to mind.

  I was never good at translating the really fast 'coders. I could catch enough of the letters though to make out the gist of the messages. Once you miss one letter and mistake it for something else and your brain farts, it's hard to play catch up. Thank god for wireless + encryption.

  What I could never figure out is, how on earth do people know what Mary even looked like?

  I will give her this though - if that grilled cheese is really 10 years old and she didn't do anything to preserve it, I would be at a loss for words. I sure would like to see a reputable company step up to date this sandwich just to prove its age and to give a scientific reason for its preservation.

  on fairly short notice silentlambs sent out an advisory to the public that jehovah's witnesses were once again going to court to speak as character witnesses for a convicted pedophile.

  earlier in the week on monday a large group of jehovah's witnesses had made known their intention to come to court as they had for the last two years to publicly support and offer character statements for a man convicted on several counts of molesting his daughters.
