Home or cellular? I imagine it would be home phone use. It is more difficult to eavesdrop on a cellular conversation than it is with a residential wireless phone. In fact, it is downright near impossible to "listen" in on a cellular conversation these days. Whereas is it very easy to sit outside an elder's house in the dark and clip on a butt-set to his Network Interface Unit mounted to his house wall. Then it doesn't matter what type of phone he uses, wired or wireless. Cellular-to-cellular is still the best way to go for privacy.

why have they not shut him down with legal threats?
how is it that he is still able to post his tirade against the governing body and they have not done anything against him up to now?

Wild Turkey or Jim Beam?

i used to like jack daniels but they've lowered the proof so i refuse to buy it now.

Fairly easy to choose. You can go to just about any electronics retailer. XM and Sirius are the two to pick from. I personally use XM because it was already built into my Honda. If someone likes to do road trips, it is definitely a lifesaver on the road. No more all-country or talk show stations while driving through Bunghole, USA.

Last reply, I promise.
Continuing with what DY said, the JW's say that the greatest life decision is the one to get baptized - even greater than getting married. If that's the case, then this little 12 year old child should also be ready for marriage I assume? I mean, c'mon, this child is mentally mature enough to serve God for the rest of their life right? It is the greatest life altering decision they will ever make(according to JW's) so this means that they should also be allowed to date and to find a marriage partner, correct? Or am I all wrong in my reasoning?
I hope you have enough ammo to take to your friend now.

If the mother has to approve of them getting baptized, don't you think they are a little too young then? At what age is it acceptable for the child not to get approval first? Sounds like the mother is a little more worried about what the congregation will think rather than the spiritual interests the child may have.

1. Who's example should we closely follow?
2. If 30 years of age was the perfect time for Jesus to be baptized, should we not also wait at least that long? Do you think Jesus might have been trying to establish a point of reference for the proper age of baptism for someone who would be raised in the truth as he was?
Jesus taught the older men at the temple a thing or two before he was in his teens. That sort of teaching work is the main qualifier for becoming a baptized JW today - to be able to explain JW beliefs. So why wasn't Jesus baptized at an early age? There must have been a good reason, no? Maturity perhaps?

they allowed jw's to register as a religion on the basis that they now accept alternative service over military duty.
what happened to the good old days where substituting any work for military conscription was against jah's law?

What does the Society have against jeans?
by truthseeker inrarely will you find a picture of someone in the awake or watchtower wearing jeans.
even in there so-called paradise on earth illustrations, men can be doing dirty work in the farm, and be wearing slacks.. for example, in the november 15th wt entitled, "do you want to live forever?
", page 7 has another paradise illustration, which has to be one of the most socially-engineered pictures i have ever seen.. the caption, "love for god and neighbor will make living forever worthwhile".

Regarding Blondie's quotes, I remember going out in service with the Keams Canyon, AZ congregation a while back. Their territory is smack in the middle of the Hopi indian reservation which is in the middle of the Navajo reservation in NE corner of AZ. Believe it or not, the brothers and sisters DO NOT dress up for field service. Both sexes wear jeans, not slacks. No meeting clothes are worn at all. In fact, they intentionally dress down to appear more acceptable to the indian people who live there.
They do dress up a little at the meetings, but not real spiffy. There were quite a few 'interested' ones that came on Sunday so that may be another reason why they do not dress up that much. The area could almost be compared to a 2nd or even a 3rd world country. But I will give them this - they have the coolest looking KH inside and out that I have ever seen. Very rustic. The ceiling inside has aspen logs all across it. Old wood floors. And they converted some old oil lamps to electrical for lighting.
p.s. you can see a few of the folks that attend that hall and the area they work when you watch the society's video on the worldwide brotherhood. the video starts out in the desert and then shows a mudhouse in the background with smoke coming out of it while a couple of sisters are talking to someone. heh, the PO was in the mudhouse throwing water on the fire to make it smoke for the video. I don't remember what those sisters were wearing, but if they had dresses on, it was only for the making of the video.
