  ok, so we know for a fact the bush administration lied us into a war in which we never should have engaged.

  we know they fix scientific data to meet the needs of the special interest groups who make up their constituency.

  but did you know the bush team, lead by carl rove, fixed it so a governor would go to jail?...

  I want the Democratic Congress to quit being such a bunch of pussies and do their job already. Call these as**oles to account already.

  Amen! I'm not going to hold my breath though. I wish there was enough political impetus in this country for the voters to break the two party system, it is a ball and chain. Until the day comes that an independant can win, I'll vote for the lesser of two evils.

  Alberto should totally be on that crimes list.

  I think most politicians are not trustworthy, but the Bush Adm has pushed that to a new level.

  I've just become a father

  i have been married for 10 years and have two wonderful step kids, 15 and 21. being a jw i did not want a child as life seemed so pointless.

  things changed for the better since leaving and i am now the proud father of a big baby boy zac - 9pounds (4.1kg), 52cm long and huge lungs.

  my wife is filipino so the baby looks very asian at the moment.

  i would like to give the full details of my leaving the jw's, but i don't have a lot of time at this moment.

  basically i was raised in the organization and it drove me pretty insane bacause my father was an elder, mother a pioneer, sister a bethelite, etc.

  so, i did the whole thing for a long time.

  i'm scheduled for many books stores in spokane, walla walla and yakima.

  i'm currently working on seattle stores for april/may.

  then i'll move on to portland.. i'd love to see you if you're in these areas!.

  OMG - I did it - I told my Mom and Dad how I feel...

  my mom and dad came round today and we ended up at the local mall with my hubby and kids having lunch.

  after lunch my hubby went home with the kids and i stayed on with my folks to do some shopping.

  as we were driving home, i pointed out my son's new school, and we were discussing the merits of private vs. public schools etc, and mom says "i just hope that by the time the kids get to highschool that the end has come, and you and the family are in the truth".. i mumbled something about having my doubts.

  It seems like you didn't force the issue, you let things unfold organically and that is I think your strong suit here. The ball is in their court now, try not to get anxious or worry. And when you prepare, don't cram like a student night before finals, just lightly review and get a few important details and notes.

  No matter how it goes, you will be ok.

  I think the high turnover in Buddhism mentioned has more to do with westerners "trying it out", looking at something new only for the novelty to wear off.

  I agree.

  I wonder if there will ever be a follow up to that study? I also liked how the study showed the changes in non believers, interesting eh.
