It is definetly a good for you to read, but can be emotionally stressful to read. Get through it the first time, set it aside for a week or even a month, then read it again. I wonder if there would be any benefit to reading it out loud to yourself, as then you are engaging two of your senses.

Who's celebrating Yule?
by White Dove inmy daughter and i went to our very first yule ritual/celebration.
it was a beautiful ceremony with masks and costumes of the sun lord, white lady, and the raven of annwyn (sic?).
we witches (i'm in training) sure eat a lot of food (for grounding).

My partner is Pagan/wiccan, solitary pratitioner. He has friends that we see once or twice a year but so far not for celebrations or rituals, I'd like to see that though.
My mom & I, even while JWs, thought a great deal about the solstice and would try to plan a special activity such as skiing or sledding with my younger siblings and later my nephews.
I like the idea of any outdoor activity onthe solstice, and observing the sun rise and set, but that can be impossible with Pacific NW weather sometimes.

Whats the worst thing you have heard from the stage???
by karter inat a circuit assembly the co stopped his talk and asked the attendants to remove a crying baby and his mother .. she go up walked out the back started crying as she was studying she never came back.. saved by the co i say..

Telling a mother to take a crying kid out sounds like something Brandose(spelling???) would do. He was visiting our hall one time, and a couple of brothers were in the back talking quietly and he got all huff at them from the platform, scolded them for being disruptive. It was so stupid.

The Biblical Flood Thoroughly Trashed

my old friend alan feurerbacher who has done an unbelievable amount of scholarly research on many subjects must have spent about two or three thousand years researching virtually every aspect of the biblical flood story, and am providing the link to this subject (together with links to other excellent work by him).
it's long and detailed and definitely not for those who get bored with more than four sentences of information and sound bites.

Do take care of the legalities or they can really bitch slap you. Otherwise, enjoy the experience. Open honest comunication is very important, therapy for him may be needed just for a while so he can adjust to your household way of being.
My nephew is now living with his grammy-my mother- as my sister went off the deep end during her divorce. He is happy and has remarked that he doesn't ever want to go back to her and her chaos. He's 12, loves his mom, just knows that he is done with her crazy life. Your nephew is so lucky to have you, and this experience can teach you alot too. Best of luck.

I wasn't cool enough to hang out with the naughty elders' kids. My two closest friends were 19-20 something MS pioneers. I am so glad we're all out now. I don't know about the elders' kids now, they're probably elders by now.
Lately I've been curious about the old hall, I live about an hour away, and I'd like to go see a handful of people, but WOW is my life different now.

Go to a book store and buy...Help! what's the whole title to CoC?!?- by Ray Franz. You need to work with your BF, does he still believe the WTS beliefs? Also, are you familiar with the term "Love Bombing"? There are other terms used to describe cults that you may not be familiar with. They will use manipulation to try to coerce you or him back into the JW, this could start as already mentione LB and then shift to shunning, using both positive and negative pressures on you. I think the process is called "grooming", its also used my sexual predators on their intended victims. Learn and understand this process.
I think it is important for you to completely free your BF from the beliefs, if you spiritually inoculate him, he can't catch it. (hence CoC, Crisis of Conscience?)
I don't see how they could have a legal leg to stand on with trying to take your child away, unless you like to party or anything like that.
No matter how kind or helpful or good to you they are, DO NOT TRUST THEM. But they are also humans, and should be treated kindly, just don't ever forget that you are worthy of death...acording to the teachings of their loving god.
Take your prenatal Vit, eat plenty of Omega-3 fatty acids, and congratulations.
