I have to make this comment. I feel it was not right for R6 to call MKR a moron, so I'm hoping he called him that in jest. When I was in the troof, we were taught to take every opportunity to make a witness. Even a smile coming your direction would be a invite to witness, even more so a verbal statement of "Hi" or a wave! I can see a witness or two not making any contact, but a mini-van of witnesses! What is this world coming to!! lol

Looking for GOLDEN AGE mags 1925-1930
by Voltage ini'm trying to find copies of the golden age, specifically from the years 1925-1930. there seems to have been some really outrageous stuff published during those years, which i would like to be able to verify.
i found this site which has links to high-quality scans of most issues, but the 1925-1930 period is missing.
if anyone has copies (electronic or otherwise), or knows where to find some, please contact me!

Voltage , I have a few GAs between those years. The NYC Public Library has a majority of the GAs on microfilm. What is it you are pacifically looking for?

If you are dissasosiated............
by Heather indo the elders have to reinstate you if you start going back to meetings.
i was told a while back that you would be treated as a person on reproff with all restrictions but now i'm hearing that if i go back i will have to wait to be reinstated.....this is such bullsh**.
i really don't want to go back...but my grandmother just passed away last week and i went to the service(it was at the kh) and was able to see my family that for 4 years now has bearly talked to me...and i go to see my 2 beautiful nieces...whom i would love to have a relationship with.....so i started thinking maybe i could go to a few meetings to be able to have something to do with them.....well i went today....i was so upset earlier that i went and smoked a bit to calm me down...heeeeeeee .....so anyway....i was soo irritated and bored all the f-ing answers that some of them come up with....i guess i just keep thinking about the other side...they really do think that those of us on the outside are miserable......i was more miserable today then i have been in years just sitting there trying to pretend.

Well I try to make a comeback after DA myself 20+ years ago. The elders in the congregation I was recently attending hadn't a clue on what to do , soooooooo I was told to attend the meetings and they would get information from the hall I was DA'ed from. Everyone in the hall seeing me for the first time, introduce themselves to me and I also received some invitations to their homes and even Bethel by the bethelites. After about 3 week of meetings I was suddenly summoned to the back room, and guess what?, bingo you hit it right on the head, I was told not to speak to anyone , even though an announcement of my past DA would not be made from the podium, but that the "friends" would be made aware of my situation. The following meeting prove true to the elder's very words, not one person spoke to me or looked in my direction. I was told in a "few" months (6 to be exact) to submit a letter requesting to return . In the meantime I never receive a visit from any of the Elders for encouragement or to see where I was at in my thinking about the Borg. Eventually I realized I was making a big mistake (much thanks to JWD)and other research, and haven't stepped back inside a KH in over 10 years. I became a member of a small , but loving ,church and continue doing studies on early Christianity on my own with feedback from fellow worshipers. I've never been happier as I am now, thanks to the Lord.

I too am a member of the Ancient Archeology/History club :) I have a subscription to Biblical Archeology Review since the 80's and still have all the issues.I still yearn to see the ancient lands in my lifetime. I too am also a collector of antiques, but mostly books, maps and ephemera.I suggest a good read about ancient technology is ANCIENT INVENTIONS by Peter James and Nick Thorpe @1994 Ballantine Books. Definitely a awesome book!

I found that question both in the original Bound volume and the 2005 WT CD. The year is 1958 not 1959.

1894 A Conspiracy Exposed
by Lady Lee in1894-a-conspiracy-exposed.pdf (32.74 mb) .
many of us wonder what kind of a man russell was.
the april 25, 1894 watch tower there was a special edition exposing a conspiracy regarding a possible overthrow of russell's power.. page 11 states that a bro zech disagreed with russell's opinion that the printed page was the best way to preach the word.

VW44 - The Tower Publishing Company was a firm owned by Charles T. Russell. It was used in publishing the first 4 volumes of the Studies in the Scriptures as well as tracts, and the Zion's Watchtower magazine. It operated from 1887 to 1898, when Russell transferred assets of the company by donation to the WTB&TS.

Can YOU identify this photo (1914 Rapture?)
by AlphaOmega ini need help identifying the source of this photo, which purports to show the watchtower crowd going up to the top of the mount of olives in 1914 awaiting the rapture.. .
i would like to show this photo to several jws along with the article in the october 8 1968 awake, which says.... true, there have been those in times past who predicted an end to the world, even announcing a specific date.
some have gathered groups of people with them and fled to the hills or withdrawn into their houses waiting for the end.yet nothing happened.

Also the same photo can be found in the "1910 Souvenir Notes Bible Students Convention"(if one could be found, being they are very rare)between pages 44-45.Yes da Judge is in the pic, for the Souvenir Note's states that a Mr.Jamal(guide from Syria) arrange a meeting between Rutherford and a Dr.Isaac Levy(head of the Zionist movement in Palestine)in the city of Jerusalem. The meeting took place at 11:00am on a Sunday morning.

"No Soliciting" laws and JW's
by Junction-Guy ini realize that the wt society won the supreme court case in 2002, however the decision still left a few loopholes and uncovered angles.
my question is this---does anyone in the us know of any current legal disputes with jw's concerning "no soliciting" ordinances?
does anyone know of any communities that have been able to bypass the stratton vs.wtbts supreme court ruling?

I'm not familiar with the laws concerning knocking on doors in a apartment complex, but I have "No Trepassing" signs around my house. It works for me!
