My bf is going with his buddies in NY to see all three movies at a theater in a row. (they already purchased tickets) Then he'll come back and go with me.. UNLESS that is, my friend, who gets the hook up often for preview tickets days before an opening for me.. then we'll see the new release BEFORE anyone else.. (keeping fingers crossed.. tee hee.. now that I am not a JW any more I can do that!)

I think Glen was studying.. I remember hearing that he had stopped and shortly after that there were articles about him in the tabloids about fighting and stress in his life.. and someone said (there by building that mind thing for me about protection) that his life fell apart because he lost God's favor by stopping his study..

Advice needed in regards shunning
by Ron1968 ini am trying to help someone and need some advice.
when i left the jw's, i was one of the fortunate ones in that i was never shunned.
my family has unconditional love for all their kids which seems to be a hard concept for a lot of active jw's to grasp.

if you are dfd or da'd and you are no longer living at home, the family is supposed to shun you. They are only supposed to have contact with you in emergency situations.. that is it.
You know.. really show the love.

Seriously, this family really believed and told us that their son in law was Jim. They had some story about their daughter in some front band playing around him years earlier and supposedly they fell in love.. He was so reclusive that I wondered sometimes if there was a possiblity all their tales were true. To his face people called him Jim Morrison but I don't know how many believed he was the real one. He was about the right age though.. except for the fact that it seem to weird to true.. you couldn't help but wonder. I have no idea where that family is living now.. and I have no contact with that cong any more.

I started having strong suicidal impulses while I was a JW.
The thing is I know so many JWs with emotional ups and downs, many suicidal. Most of the time you don't get the love you should when you need it. Its stop your whining and get in service. No matter how much we ever did, it wasn't enough. How does one ever feel like they are good enough when all that is asked is MORE, MORE, MORE.. so if you never measure up, how good do you feel about yourself..
In a way you are set up discouragement..

all kidding aside.. I think you are right about us not being prepared to know what to do for gifts. I am feeling the same way with my first Xmas being this year.. lost.. that is for sure.
oh.. the spa is a great idea too.. a massage.. a day of pampering.. what woman wouldn't love that..

i think its hard to have a real freind if you need to be careful about everything you say and do.

The sad thing is that when I read that poem a couple years ago I thought I had friends who fit that..
but I never thought about the fact that IF I ever doubted the WTS, how they would react.. and how the picture would change.
