Hi Quotes...I love your site. When you do a "deep"inspection of what the bible has to say on so many things you start do realise that they are only deep in sh!t. http://quotes.watchtower.ca/bible_quotes.htm

What good bible wisdoms do you know?
by Bas ini'm not much of a bible expert myself so i was wondering what good bible/jesus wisdoms do you know?
things that can help you in daily life by keeping them in the back of your mind.
also i'm not looking for cliche's that everyone knows regardless if they ever opened the bible, more like philosophical wisdoms that even atheists should know.

I was shocked when I read info on the early views of the JW's toward blacks. Read the website "Watch the Tower/Blacks and the Watchtower."
The REAL shocking part was they they were almost the last religion in the USA to integrate services for all races. You see they didn't want to cause a problem to the governments at the time.

The things you describe exist in every organization that I have associated with religious, educational and secular
I would like to hear about the other religions that you have"associated with" and why you withdrew from them and picked the dubs as gods best answer for mankind ??

Reading the book should make you want to quit, but if you already know a lot of "Bethel dirt" and it doesn't bother you, then reading the book might have little effect on you.
Frankly, I can't understand how anyone with a lick of sense or conscience or integrity can stay at Bethel more than a couple of years, or having been there, think that the JWs are anything but a nasty cult.
Alan F has got it. It sounds to me like you just don't really want to know and if you did you would try and block it out.
Don't worry....my wife is the same way.She is happy to have the WT do the thinking for her. Best of luck? to you.

I have been reading COC
by fairy inwell, i have read the first few chapters of the latest edition and am surprised at what i read.. the bickering behind the society - how some decisions were not based on scriptural reference - the 607 date - and where the gentile times 1914 thing came about - the malawi/mexico business - ray franz has a very interesting story about the society/governing body amongst other things.. it seems that ever since he was there, he constantly came across things he didnt agree with.. the voting system that was set up to see what articles went in the magazines.. there was one bit in there about being "scriptually free to marry".
one sister caught her husband and an animal together....well..you know......and she divorced him.
she remarried but then told she wasnt free to scriptually marry and they disfellowshipped/dissassociated her.......how ridiculous is that.. and so the story goes........... i thought i would just put my bit in on the first section i have read...will write more when i have read more..

You have to be kidding! CoC was published in 1983 before the Internet took off. What is found on the Internet in the years since have little to do with CoC. Anything on the Internet that resembles CoC likely used CoC as its source.
Amazing 1914 has it right. You have to go to the root of the matter to get the facts.Ray was at the pinnacle of power and saw how the GB really worked. He showed where they have failed and how they have failed. There can be no rebuttal of the facts expressed by him and the GB has given none. Once you read and study with an open mind COC you can and will never go back.

Has the quality of jws gone down?
I will just deal with one area...Beliefs.Years ago (yes I know I am old) there was a lot more dealing with core beliefs at the meetings. In recent years talking with a number of young persons they only have a vague knowledge of what was taught and what is being taught. They are just going along for the ride and they don't have a clue as to what is going on.I think the WT likes it like that.

FOR SALE: I thought maybe another KH was on the blocks. A bookbag wouldn't have much resale value. Dubs everywhere are dumping them on to the market..Good luck with your sale
I've got a going-to-the-meeting cheap polyester suit and tie I'll trade. The seat of the trousers are very shinny from hours of sitting at the spiritual-feed bag.
On the other hand this should fetch a good price on E-Bay.There are a lot of people out their who don't appreciate how many years a dub will wear a cheap suit before trading it in for another cheap suit. A lot of the suits I see in the local circuit were probably handed down directly from father to son for at least three generations. A family heirloom for sure.

Apostates' Idealised Image of their Time as a Witness
by slimboyfat ini know some apostates become bitter and can see nothing good in their time spent as witnesses, but i am not talking about that kind of apostate.
i am talking about the other kind of apostate who tends to idealise certain aspects of their time in the witnesses.
what motivates such sentiments i wonder?
